Anyone ever done it "outside" only to find that BUGS ruin the evening or night?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
We were just outside on the patio, after watching a July 3rd fireworks show.

It is still almost 90 degrees, the stars are out and our bench cushions are fresh from the wash, so We were going to "go at it" on our private, privacy fenced patio, but the BUGS...mosquitoes and "no see ums" were swarming us...especially, dare I say, our "private parts", despite us being slathered in 100% deet from earlier at the fireworks show. We hightailed it back INTO our bedroom.

Anyone else had this problem? Anyone else, camper or outdoors person, have suggestions on making BUG FREE love outdoors???

No, we've never had a problem with bugs while making love outside. Although once I was stung by a bee between my toes after making love in a meadow! Candies sandals with the laces that go up your calf. They were really sexy, but I evidently bothered a bee with my foot while walking from the meadow into the woods, and I got stung between my toes. It was horribly painful.

Not during sex, though.

I've had issues with no-see-ums getting to me during outdoor sex. I generally have a tent to prevent the problem. If you have a tent with a mesh top, it preserves the feeling of being outdoors, but without the distraction of bugs during and the itching afterward.

Well my bf and I have this mesh tent thing in the back yard. We spray bug repellent before we go out and we also keep bug repellents like the clip ons and some other products around in use. We also have two fans inside the mesh roof because the wind keeps the bugs away.

I recently moved to a nice little cottage near the beach with my wife. When we first got here I thought it might be fun to have a go in our private garden. Now that we've been here and know how many spiders are out there we've changed our minds.

I think there are specific hours when bugs are active. Here they are around between 6PM and can persist till 1AM. During tha day or in the morning they are minimal!

Yeahhh, bugs and the like are one of the reasons I keep my sexytimes indoors for the most part

I had a friend that went out to a soccer field with her boyfriend . In Louisiana there's a tiny red that is commonly chigger [I have no idea what the bug is actually called ] They were both covered in bites .

I've never really had that problem, but I've never done it in the early evening when bugs are always around.

Oh yeah, bugs can and do ruin an otherwise terrific experience. Damn biting gnats in the daytime and mosquitoes at night.

We tried citronella oil for a while. It helped some, but it still didn't seem to solve the problem altogether. Most of the time we just wait until we're inside now.
