Gift equals romance?

I am wondering what gifts tend to be most likely to lead to spicy romance? (Assuming there is even a tie in).

I am NOT saying anyone should use gifts as a "bribe" or "payment" for sex, I am asking, in a romantic relationship...where there is already healthy relations, is there some gift type (Candy, Flowers, Jewelry, Cloths, cards, Teddy Bears...etc) that you find MOST "turns on the love juices" for you or your lover?

Just asking.

I realized tonight that after years of INCREDIBLE gifts of all kinds, it is still the sweet HAND WRITTEN words inside the cards that MOST "Light My Fire".

It's the thought behind a gift that counts (or at least that's the way it should be). I appreciate it when my wife gets me expensive gifts, but they don't mean more to me because of the cost than something else she put a great deal of thought and love into. less

I so agree....something I know time and thought was applied to. However, I was trying to gauge if there is a gift "type", regardless of cost, that seems to get gals or guys more "in the romantic mood" then others. While a gift of lingerie or a sex toy says "I want some" from the giver, does a dozen roses or a box of really good chocolate make the receiver feel more "I want to give it to you"?

That was more the tone of my question!

My wife, tonight, for our 31st anniversary, really pulled out the stops on "gifts". I had been saving up for a Tablet Computer, and have been waiting for "just the right one" that met my needs, for over a year. Reading all the computer magazines and devouring the tech blogs. Then my little savings account went POOF, when our college age daughter decided to finish early (and thus get her med school apps in early), but summer tuition had to be paid "all in one payment"!!! OUCH.

Well, tonight my wife revealed that she too had a secret stash (she assures me ALL woman do), and from it she got me my Tablet Computer.

Have to admit...sure put ME in a romantic mood...and after writing this..I am going to play ANGRY BIRDS for the first time!!! Ha, Ha, Ha!!! less

I love it when he comes home from work and surprises me with a, "Honey, guess what? We can stay up all night if we want, I took tomorrow off to spend with you!" Woohoo! But yes, handwritten post-it notes on my steering wheel, or on the mirror in the bathroom telling me how beautiful I am and how much I mean to him, makes me melt! Those little things mean more to me than anything else!

In my mind, most gifts are just things. I can buy things,just as well as he can. I prefer the gift of spending time together or purchasing tickets to DO something together. We don't really do gifts (like jewelry, clothing, candy or flowers and cards); we strive to make memories instead. less

Love it!!! We enjoy our time together more then any material things too...really. Although the tablet computer she just got me as a REALLY big surprise tonight, is sure making ME feel romantic as heck. I guess we can BOTH sit together on the couch and check up our Facebook accounts!!!! Together time!!! less
