Have you heard of "Rainbow Parties"?

Bignuf Bignuf
This was a new one on me. Teens or younger, getting together....where the girls all wear different color lip gloss and the boys try and get as many colors "on them" as possible, by the end of the evening (because "oral sex isn't sex"). I sure am no prude, but when I hear about things like this, I am so glad my daughter is grown! Have you heard of this before?

In all honesty, I feel like a lot of the time the media makes this stuff up to get older people "concerned for the youth of today."

There were a couple of times in high school my mom would ask about some "trend" like this, and my brother and I were like "huh? I have never heard anybody talking about that at all," and she would say it was all over Newsweek or something.

Whatever, media!

I never heard of it and asked my kids and they had not either. Could be that we are so small of a place that it hasn't reached here yet.

Now that I read it I would like to try with people more around my age (teenaged adult, legally adult teenagers... over 18 but under 22? i still consider myself a teen right now.), as long as the people care about safety, boundaries and are open minded.
There would be a way to make it better, because the lipgloss thing... might be bad for genitals? And the women should get some too

I have heard of this, mostly it is urban legend type stuff. Like the bracelets and such. I recall be asked about rainbow parties when I was a teen and me and my friends laughing at the fact that our parents actually believed this kind of stuff. Considering I am in my 30's now this one has been going around for awhile, yet I have yet to meet a single person who has ever been to one of these parties.

I agree. Scare tactics and urban legends. I doubt that half the stuff they do those scary reports on is widespread.

I heard stories about this back when I was in high school.

Ciao. Ciao.
I've heard of it, but it sounds pretty bogus to me. It's entirely plausible that it happens here or there, but the "kids these days" get much more credit than they are due

I remember giggling about it with friends when we were swapping "did you hear about this thing called..." kind of things. I heard it was lipstick, not lip gloss. I heard rumors about girls, but no "rainbow party" stories.

Yes, I have heard and know of a girl who has hosted on in her home. I was invited, but didn't go. I didn't trust the guys to be clean.

Never heard of this, but I have heard of Skittles parties. Bring all the pills you can find at home, everyone mix them in a bowl & then grab some randomly & ingest. That's been going on for over a decade, but wasn't around when I was growing up.

Heard of them. They are 100% bs. So a bunch of different girls are about to give me hea...STOP! Don't smudge the lipstick. Yeah right.

People love to brag but I find that people don't have as much sex as you would think.

Never heard of it - my kids graduated from HS 4 years ago, but luckily they were not into the usual 'popular' crowd. Now they are old enough to look back with a laugh - and glad that they had the courage to pass on the usual fads.

Oh gosh! I remember the lame games from when I was a kid. You broke someone's plastic bracelet back then. Pissed me off because I loved my bracelets & then someone would come break it! And then they expected you to do whatever they wanted. Pssh! Lol. Hey, some of us liked our freaking bracelets.

Anyways, this one is news to me. Sad.

Nope never heard of it. my kid isn't stupid enough to fall for it, and she really doesn't do the party thing.

It's an urban legend, like the Rainbow bracelet parties. I think some tried it after hearing about it.

heard of it, but I agree, I think it's something that the media latched onto as the latest "do you know what your kids are getting up to" horror story. Which, no doubt, probably led some to try it, so they weren't left out of the latest craze.

But if it was at all prevalent, you know camera-phone footage would have shown up on one or other of the tube sites by now, and I just did a quick search on a couple and nothing.

Wistfully musing... it does sound kinda fun, though.
