I wrote an article at Liberator Ooh this week called "Why so serious"
I discussed how there is a double standard for women when it comes to discussing and talking about sex openly. This also goes back to my PTO fiasco this week. So I would like to know how comfortable you are with talking about sex.

It really depends on who I am talking to nad how comfortable with the topic. I have been know to just blurt out some great ideas, and on the flip side, some not so good ideas.

I'm an undergraduate student going for medical school next year. I'm taking several ethics, anatomy, and human body classes in which sex usually is the major topic for probably half of the time. I've spent 4 years at college, and I know that sex, or at least the biology behind it, will only increase in discussions from here on out.

I'll talk about it with friends sometimes, but some of my close friends are virgins for religious reasons, so I don't talk about it with them. I have no problem talking about it in a casual conversation with people I don't really know, but there's certain details I wouldn't go into.

It's incredibly easy to talk about sex with my partners and with close friends.

I enjoy talking about sex with strangers and new acquaintances too... but I'll usually wait for them to send a signal that they wouldn't judge me if I was honest before I get into juicy detail. It's easy for me to keep my mouth shut if I don't sense that I'm in friendly territory.

It's not that I'm a prude...it just doesn't come up. If I talk about sex at work...it would be a huge problem. I don't think we are comfortable enough with our neighbors to talk about sex. I haven't really made any other friends down in Florida I am comfortable enough to talk about sex with.

Mostly I just talk about sex with my S/O. I do sort of mention my activities on Eden with close friends, just briefly bringing it up during conversations, and I will talk more about toys and such if they're interested. Usually they'll be surprised to know I'm into sex toys!

A bit of a mix. My partner has a very conservative family, so I try to fly under the radar when it comes to them. I'm comfortable talking about sex frankly to friends or people I don't know online.

I don't bring it up unless it's a close friend or family member... but it's extremely easy for me to talk about. I consider sex as just another natural thing.. everyone does it (for the most part), so why act like its something to be ashamed of or embarased of

I don't talk about it with family, but everyone else is fair game. My family believes if a guy sucks a cock he's gay, gay, gay, G-A-Y!!!! And no amount of rational thought can convince them otherwise. Bible-thumping: their favorite past-time. Anyway...I'm pretty open about a lot of things and it's dependent upon the audience just how far I'll go into discussion.

My aunt is like your family. She likes to preach, A LOT. It gets super annoying. Everything she says is "right" and everyone else is "wrong". Its so hypocritical

Talking to these people is like licking a brick wall, it's a novelty at first but after awhile your tongue starts to get raw. And then we end up in epic arguments because I cannot get over how closed-minded they are and how I managed to turn out to be so open about so many things.

Me too! Well, my mom is not narrow minded.. actually, she is the one who introduced me to this site lol.. but a lot of other people on my mom's side of the family are very narrow minded.. but my aunt takes the cake for sure. This is a bit off topic but here are a few messed up examples:

1. back when i was a bit younger (im 24 now), I drank alcohol with friends. She sent me an email saying I was going to hell. I don't drink anymore, not because of the fear of hell, but for health reasons.
2. When I became vegetarian, she told my mom that I am a sinner because god gave us animals to eat (WTF?)
3. When I told my aunt on the phone I was gaining weight because I was eating alot of starchy foods, she then told my mom that fat people are sinners and god hates them.


Im not even kidding here... It seems she likes to use me the most to point her judgement at. I dont really care because most of the stuff is so beyond ridiculous. I mean, vegetarianism is evil? I chose to do that because I value animals' lives for goodness sakes!
