I prefer being the little spoon unless I am already feeling smothered or trapped psychologically. Sometimes things will switch if I'm trying to make up for a disagreement or if I want attention. It's probably 75% little spoon 25% big.

I love feeling my partner pressed against my back, so I find being the little spoon to be equal parts arousing and affectionate. As the big spoon I'm able to shower him with affection and wake him up in very pleasant ways.
They're both just great.
