Seems like a false choice. Foreplay is by definition the activities that precede intercourse. BTW - it would be nice if people spelled words correctly - especially in the formation of a question. that squiggly red line under a word you just typed means something! FYI 'forplay' is properly spelled as 'foreplay'.
Back to the topic - there can be a lot of sexual play that does not end in intercourse and we enjoy that a lot - but ti's not technically 'foreplay'. In any case we enjoy it all; sex play, foreplay and intercourse.!

Foreplay is amazing though, so it's not a chore to us. We'll often engage in foreplay before napping together or going out. It keeps us affectionate and desirable to one another.
