We don't do marathons - but a good 20 minute warm up of cuddling, massage and forms of foreplay followed by 10-20 minutes of sex are enough for someone approaching 60.
Am I getting what I need? Mostly - a little more often would be good, but I'm not complaining because when we do - it's great quality time.

Longer is preferable from the pleasure aspect, but I also really need my sleep so shorter is better there.

Well, my boyfriend has had troubles with actually achieving orgasm. He's only 25, but he's said he's always struggled with it. Since I came along though, there has been only.. 2?.. times where we went at it for over 40 minutes and then stopped because he wasn't reaching climax and was losing it.
But those two times aside, we normally go at least 20 minutes, normally in the half an hour range. Anything above 40 minutes is often painful for me- my body can only handle so much before it gets tapped out on its lubrication. (And using lube often doesn't help!)
I do think I am getting what I need. Definitely.

Most of the time our sessions last at least 60-90 minutes. A couple time a week, it lasts much longer, like last night...well over 2 hours.
We have sex quite often, usually it has only been hours between sessions. We really enjoy playing though. It isn't all penetrative for the entire time; we mix it up A LOT!

I'd say 20 minutes is pretty average for us and I usually get what I need.
Sometimes it feels like it's over before it starts and sometimes it lasts so long I wish I had someone I could tag in to take my place and finish things up.

Foreplay is longer, but 10-20 minutes of actual sex. We both get what we need.

Usually it depends on how long it takes for me to squirt because it takes me longer than it does him, after we're done with me, we take care of him and then it's faster.

I don't have a clock in my room now, so I don't know how long we take nowadays. I think 20 minutes (I voted wrong, sorry!) is about average.
When we were younger, we took a really long time! We easily spent 2 hours in the bedroom. That's what we needed then. We are happy with how things are now.

30 minutes is about right for us. We typically have sex just before we go to bed, so on weeknights we don't push it too long, since both of us have to be up early. Weekends are another matter. Then it's closer to an hour.

He knows that a quickie in the morning (sometimes even just a little oral followed by some PIV, without or with toy play) and we need to have a marathon that evening.
It's different every time, but our average is about an hour and a half to two hours. Quickies are about 30-40 minutes.
I'm waiting for the Bears game to be over so we can get it on. We have the house to ourselves, as the little one is at a friend's house, and our middle one just walked in all talkative and... here....
