Never did it for birth control reasons - it was just that he was really eager and I wasn't cramping like hell (we've since only had to deal with the first day or last day on our weekend get-togethers). Quite messy. I suggest the tub, or a throe/moisture barrier cloth.

I use the birth control pill for birth control, but we have sex on my period if I feel up to it. Throw down a dark towel over the Liberator Throe and go to town!

In terms of birth control, my understanding is that you're a lot less likely to get pregnant during your period, but it's still possible.

I don't think you can get pregnant, I think women the very small percentage of women that said they have really just spotted when they thought they were getting their period. Most people don't have an egg to fertilized when they are already trying to get rid of another!
