Ladies, has someone every commented to you, "How can you be bi-sexual, You're too pretty to like girls?"

Contributor: msammunition msammunition
People kill me with this I'm too pretty, lol, it's hilarious; so if I was ugly it would be fine for me to like women. Stop asking this, you sound so ignorant, ugh!

pshhh lol most people think it's awesome, and if they don't I don't care...I usually don't hang with people that are close minded anyway.

WOW I've never heard anyone say that to me but to be perfectly honest I'd be tempted to punch them in the face if they ever did. I can look good and like girls all at the same time contrary to their belief

I actually have heard this comment before, but it wasn't to me personally. It was to a friend of mine who is a lesbian. She was told by her uncle when she came out to the family. He asked her..."But you're a beautiful girl, how can you only like girls? You can have any guy you want."

REALLY ignorant statement.

It is an incredibly mean statement that I really wish people wouldn't say. A pretty girl is a pretty girl, regardless of what team she plays for.

oh my goodness, the ignorance of people astounds me. and is also hilarious.
if they find girls so attractive why would they not understand you being attracted to them too, though? PEOPLE....

No, but I've heard other things. The amount of biphobia from both sides of the spectrum is astounding.

I'm straight, but wow... what a jerk. Reminds me of how people tell my sister that she doesn't look like a lesbian... sigh.

A male friend of mine is usually told "You look too flaming to be bi!"

I really don't know which is worse - they both sounds equally asinine.

I've never heard that.... when I recently came out publicly as bi, the most offensive comment I got was "Wow you're boyfriend is a lucky guy!" right... because bisexual automatically means he'll get threesomes, right? Wrong.

I've had something similar happen to me. It wasn't necessarily that I was too pretty, but just that I'm so passing no one sees in coming until I mention it. It's always fun to throw people off though. Just make it a positive experience instead of letting ignorance get to you.

Yep, had it happen to me. It's just like when they say about lesbians being "pretty enough" to get any man they want so why would they want to go with only woman. Yes, I've heard of that one too. I normally reply back "What can I say? I'm just so pretty that both genders can't help but want me." It normally shuts them up.

I've heard it said to lesbians but not to me personally, my favorite comment it usually "wow that's so hot." Yes that's exactly why I do it, so you;ll think I'm hot -_-

Nope, thank goodness. I'd return with "Aren't you too ugly to like (insert their opposite gender here)?"

...I'd almost begin to understand if it were a lesbian being told that by a guy who was trying to get with her (like, saying that they find her attractive and WISHED she liked men) but I don't understand it at all when it's said to a bi woman. Maybe it's meant where 'pretty' meant, like, 'girly' or 'feminine' and the person was one of the people who believe that any girl who likes girls has to be 'manly' or 'masculine'?

Nope, I'm more of the type who gets called "dyke," not the one told I'm too pretty to be queer. I'm okay with that, though, I don't really want my attractiveness openly assessed by strangers who don't understand how sexual orientation works.

Can't say I've ever had this happen, of course my bisexuality isn't particularly common knowledge.
