#Halloween - Are you and or partner and or kids dressing up for Halloween/Samhain?

Contributor: P'Gell P'Gell
Just wondering, since I just asked Airen what her kids if her kids were going to dress up for Samhain/Halloween.

So, what are you, your SO and if you have kids, your kids going to be?

My oldest got upset when I said I was going as a cop. She said I was "too old, that's a young girl's costume" and I almost didn't do it, then I thought, "I've wanted to do this for YEARS. I have Morticia Addams so many times (when I had really long hair, I'd put a gray streak in it, and had a great costume, all black and flowing.) I've been a Renaissance Era Pub Wench for years (it's my Renn Faire Costume) and I was "Ma Ingalls" one year, my little one was SO into Little House books, and she was Laura. One year I was Little Red Riding Hood, and I dressed our Malamute up (they look JUST like wolves) like the wolf in Grandma's clothing. It was hilarious.

I'm going sexy this year. A Slut Cop. Haha. My older dd can....deal with it. I found out that SHE wanted to be a cop, that's why she got upset. I have no idea what the other older one will be, but our baby (she's ll) is Wednesday Addams, I was running around yesterday, getting all the last minute stuff, lace for the collar, black hair spray, a belt with feathers and a spider on it. Her sister took her for a doll, and they cut the head off it it last night....my kids.....

My Man won't tell me what he is going to be. I REALLY would like him to be a "prisoner" either in a black and white striped suit or an orange jump suit. We already have the handcuffs! But, he won't tell me. He says I'll be scared. Whatever....

What are y'all going to dress up as, if you do this? What about your SO and your kids, or younger siblings, if you have them?

Just thought this would be fun to talk about.

Well we're going to a costume party and I am being a vampire and he is being a doctor. Basically just whatever we could do that was easy and not too expensive lol

The kids are being Toothless from How to Train your Dragon, Luigi, and a Skeleton Priestess.

No dressing up for me, this year; I'll be stuck inside working on my thesis. That's okay, though, 'cause last year I went all out and I think I need a break! I'll also probably spend a few hours making my best friend a Dia de los Muertos piece of art.

I didn't dress up for years, then My Man and I had kids, and it refreshed our ability have fun doing simple, silly stuff. It's also My Man's birthday, so it's always a big day for us.

My girls make their own costumes and so far this year they have two bloody daggers, I have no idea what they are planning. Monkey is going as Batman.
So we will have Batman and his two homicidal sisters, cause that's what Batman really needs: two homicidal older sisters. Take THAT Joker!

I am going to a play party tonight that is going to be off the hook. I was going to be Red Riding Hood but it sounds like there are already more than a few Reds in the bunch, so I am opting for an elaborate masquerade mask and sexy black corset, skirt and stockings. That's it.

THAT is awesome!
I have a husky sheppard mix that people always say looks like a wolf..maybe you just gave me an idea for next year's costume!

My hubby and I are going as dead disco. Basically zombie disco freaks. We have a title to win from last year as we won frist prize ($300 bones!) in a costume contest.

My Daughter is going as the queen of hearts this year. We almost didn't find the costume, there were a lot of adult ones but not many kid ones. I happened to find the last one burried at the back of the rack! Success!

I am dressing up for the first time in years. My friend and I are both doing girly costumes. Mine is an Oktoberfest German dirndl style beer maid.

My kids are being a vampire hunter, and a bloodsucker (feral vampire).

Gary, my darling husband, is not dressing up

It sounds like everyone is going to have a great Halloween. Gary doesn't want to dress up? Oh, well. What are you going to do, you and your buds will have a good time.

I love the vampire hunter and old fashioned blood sucker duo.

Dead disco is great. Disco sucks. (Did I date myself?) There are a lot of Alice costume this year. My Little One loves the American MacGee Alice Game. (The one where she is in an Insane Asylum cum Wonderland cum Nightmare) and she wanted to be "Insane, Shock Treatment Alice" but decided on Wednesday Addams later. Luckily the black and white striped tights I bought for the "Insane Alice" costume would go for both.

My middle kid is at a party tonight, and I didn't SEE a costume, but she's into Cosplay, so heaven only knows what she brought with her.

My Man is bummed about his birthday, and drank too much and passed out on the couch after we went out to our favorite Italian restaurant for dinner. Mr. FunPants, lately.

I, for one, usually really look forward to Halloween and his birthday, this year he's being a PITA and I'll almost be glad when it's over. I am looking forward to dressing up. My Little One is going Trick or Treating with a friend and her sister so I don't have to freeze my butt off in my tiny little cop costume. I'll answer the door, if we get any Trick or Treaters. We live in a semi rural area of our village and the houses are far apart and far from the road, so it's not a favorite place for kids to Trick or Treat. We don't get that many kids. My Man always looks forward to scaring kids and giving out candy and putting the Graveyard in our front yard. He didn't even get the grave stones or the scary scarecrows out this year. *sigh*

I baked his favorite pumpkin pie today, he really isn't into cake. I hope he at least gets excited about that.

Y'all have a wonderful Halloween/Samhain!

Your house sounds fun, girl! Can't wait to find out what hubby decides to be for Halloween.

My dad found an old baseball bat and is wearing his old dog tags and insists he is the Bear Jew (from Inglourious Basterds).

I ran around to Military Surplus shops and pawn shops, looking for an SS hat to be a Nazi-zombie-stripper. Now I'm costume-less...though I do have a pair of devil horns I got with a lingerie costume on Eden. I may just tie those on. I doubt we will get any trick or treaters, and usually my dad and I eat all the candy anyway and stay home to watch crappy horror B-movies. It's a fun tradition

Yay dirndl! I have an ancient dirndl I want to wear but I'm so afraid my boobs will bust up the bodice, a la the She Hulk. If it wasn't a family heirloom-type thing, I'd so do it.

HULK BOOBS!

He tried something, but didn't like the results. He had started to grow his goatee back, and last night, he shaved half of it off. On one side of his face. I don't know what else he was going to do. He has sandy light brown hair and it didn't really show up well, so I said I could put some mascara on it and it would look weird.

Then his mother called, and yelled at me for not "having a party for him." (WTF? He told me "DO NOT do anything for my birthday. I want to go out to dinner the night before, have a quiet day, fuck you ragged, sit in my chair and drink scotch and watch you walk around in you tiny Cop Costume while the chicken soup cooks. DO NOT go and do anything." So I didn't. Then, his mother calls and puts him in a bad mood, because he called her back and then he shaved and now he's sulking around. Nice going MIL. The women couldn't even see fit to take him out or invite him over for his fucking birthday (and she hasn't for at least 3 years) last year she left for Florida BEFORE his birthday. She never comes home for Christmas, and for some reason, she "ASSumed" my kids and i were going to give him a party?

I think she's in a fantasy land. I have NO idea what gave her that idea. We went out to dinner, he woke up about 10:30 PM last night, after a little (scotch induced) nap, and we had fucking awesome amazing sex. Then we woke up this morning and did it again, then we gave each other massages with the JimmyJane massage candle set, before the sun came up, (it was SO sweet)then we laid in bed and talked, then we watched our Sunday Morning show, and the day was looking SO good. And this.....woman has to ruin it.

Ug. she's a miserable woman, I am hoping he'll get his good humor back before long.

I still put on my Slutty Little Cop Outfit, so at least he has that to look at. And the kids are going T&T with their friends. I hope the day gets back to were it was. Hmmm, this may take a blow job.....now when are those kids going out?....

We were the other half of (un)Dead Disco (I posted a costume picture thread for those interested)

And my daughter went as Mad Hatter.

This year my daughter was a very pink fairy princess. I figure it's probably the one and only time I'll ever be able to get her to wear so much pink. She's 14 months old and already a little bit of a tomboy. I didn't dress up this year though. I did draw a really cool looking mask on my face using teal eyeliner. Tons of spirals but nothing else. I was thinking about dressing up, but after I put my costume on and picked up my daughter, I caught a glimpse of us in the mirror and realized that I looked more like her older sister than her mama. I'm twenty but look about sixteen most days. :/ I hate not dressing up for Halloween (which is why I did the mask) but I hate it even more when people treat me as if I'm my daughters older sister. Not the best feeling in the world.
