We have suggested this a few times. I think it is just too difficult? I totally agree though. Would be awesome.

This is not going to happen any time soon.

I'm cool with how it is being done now. I installed an add-on for Firefox that refreshes my page auto every 5 seconds.

I've suggested this before, and apparently it had been brought up before I asked as well and they had considered this and decided against it...maybe their plans have changed though???

Is there a link you can share for anybody else who uses firefox? And do you have any problems with it wiping out things you were typing when it decides to refresh?

That's ok...I'm fairly active in Naked Reader and I don't mind the refreshing, and I like that you can go back to the old threads and reference a book or idea if need be. And it would probably add more problems with spammers, etc.

Good idea, seems that most of us that are here tonight spend quite a bit of time on-site so we will see activity of the members a bit more.

Could we send a note to Gary (or someone that could keep a tally), that was like a nom for "good deeds done". If someone gets like two noms they would be in the running?

Once a group is nominated then a group or community will vote.

The winner will win, that member ... more
Good thoughts.

How about having all the suggestions sent to one specified person, Gary or otherwise, who could keep track of the submissions so that it's more anonymous and you don't run the risk of "oh, hey, we talk all the time, why didn't you vote for me" or something like that.

Yes of course... I can keep track of, or set up any of that stuff, I just cant be a part of the decision making process.

I know the urge is to make it private but that could lead to people assuming that certain people are more loved by the staff than others. Keeping it public shows that the community is indeed making this suggestion. I like the idea of a certain amount of nominations are needed to make the cut so to speak.

I don't think this is the one I have. I can't find mine, but if this doesn't work I'll email the download to you.

I see pros and cons for both.

No, I stop it when I type, otherwise yes it would.

It could be private, until the winner is announced.

Cool. I prefer using Google Chrome most of the time and I just found this extension for it, it sounds kind of like what you described, but for Chrome. I'm not 100% knowledgeable about it, but just as a heads up to anyone if they use Chrome.

I was just thinking private noms, not private voting or anything like that.

I'd lean toward it being private...I personally wouldn't have any concerns about the staff playing favorites and I don't think many people would...but I think people not getting nominated by people that they expected, or people feeling like they have to do something has the potential to cause some drama.

Mine I can change it to be 5, 10, 30, or one minute intervals.

I tried using Chrome but it didn't work out too well for me lol.

I think the voting should be done similar to the way the rumble is every week, I might be more hesitant to vote if I knew somebody could see who I voted for and then maybe be upset I didn't vote for them, or having to put anybody in that situation.

This could work good.

By private voting I meant sending votes by email. I didn't explain correctly.
