I had to step away for a min, so I'm not sure if anyone has said this, but what about the possibility of limmiting how many noms a person can do. I.E. Limit it to like one nomination a week (4 in a month) idk what do you think?
I think it was touched on where once things pick up we might want to limit to 3 or 4 in a month or whatever time frame, but that in the beginning it didn't matter that much.

If everyone can do up to 4, we'll have hundreds of nominations. And Gary was concerned with there being even up to 100, which I agree is too many. In addition, if it's required that each nomination have a reason, that also means someone (Gary) has to read them all as well. That's a LOT of work. I think it's why he was trying to keep it slightly more limited.

Honestly, 1 or 2 noms a month is probably plenty.

It could be non-monetary...like the winner gets a "fan mail" from 3 committee members or something.
Or their reviews are featured on the community page along withtheir avatar and a couple of the nice things people have said about them.

I was talking about the winner of the EFprops, not the member of the month thing.

I'm not sure how that would work if it's just being run by community members, but if it were possible, that would be really sweet, lol

good point then I think that the Committee should nominate and let the comunity vote, and the poll sugested earilier (to see how many people know we exist) would givew a good idea on how many people could potentialy join us and nominate people as well..

You know what I was just thinking, how would the winner of the most creative be figured if they were all anonymous?

So maybe we start with 2 nom's per month/biweekly and go from there depending on how many noms are submitted.

Oh man, just caught this, I was referring to the EFprops submissions. I think we're finalizing everything for the member of the month thing next meeting

Number them, set up a vote, and one of us keeps track.

We could know just by simply emailing that person back?

She meant the winner of that no matter how we did the voting.

But what if the person didn't want to be announced as the winner? Would they put in something with their submission saying if they wanted to be included or not? I could be just not getting it, I'm trying to also do my actual work for my job at the same time...multitasking for the win! Or for the lose as it might be LOL

I'm fully behind the CEC noms/community votes plan. Plus, after the first month, any portion of the community that does not already know about the CEC will be aware and can step up and nom if they want to. Gary posts a pre-meeting thread every time that clearly states that anyone can participate so there's plenty of info out there about it.

I'm totally multitasking at work too. If they don't want to be announced in any manner, then they can request that in their email and when it gets uploaded the caption can be "anonymous" or something like that so that we remember. Assuming we do a contest to begin with, lol.

I still think we should do a poll to see just how many know.

I think that's a good idea - 2 monthly is fair...the EF props is what's tossing around the biweekly vs monthly issue.
