Maybe it could be in the rules that they can enter as many contests as they want, but if they win more than one, they have to pick which title they want to take, and then of course the runner up wins whichever ones thy didn't choose, and so on?
Obviously we want the most participation possible... so maybe we could just let it ride and not impose too many restrictions?

What are the number of prizes EF is willing to go for? That'll help narrow down the categories.

Yeah maybe a misc category for whatever crazy and creative ideas people can come up with that don't fit into the other categories? But then it would be hard to figure out which is better than another since they are of different types of projects and so on. Hmm....

I vote both. But it's up to what else we think of and what you guys can do as far as prizes.
Originally I was thinking 4-5 categories, each with a $25 giftcard or one category with a $100 giftcard.

I wouldn't worry about people winning all of the categories...I think most people, even if they enter more than one category, will pour a lot of energy into one thing, and different people definitely have different strengths as well.

Maybe just ten or twenty points for submitting something? We'll all be winners! ^_~

Yeah, you had just said about the same person winning multiple contests so I thought that mighe be a possible solution. But yes, I HATE when theres tons of rules. It makes it difficult.

Yes, very good point. I know if I am creative enough to enter, it's only gonna be for one category anyways! I'm not creative enough to focus on multiple good entries.

Oooooh. I don't know how the Eden Points system is set up or if it would be possible, but I think that would definitely garner more participation!

One thing about the writing...

Erotica is erotica, no explanation needed. But I have been wanting to give more attention and spotlight to the Fantasy Recipes because I thin that they get overlooked a lot. The people who put effort into them need more spotlight. So I was thinking that if we made the writing section more in that realm it might highlight the others. EF doesn't really have any platforms for straight up erotica.

Your thoughts on this?

Seconded (or, I think, thirded, since someone else also mentioned this might be a good idea)!

Most likely, the only points involved would be the forum activity. Nothing else is programed.

Definitely a good benefit for the site. It'll also link the products in, just like the costume contest.

It's definitely worth considering...my only question is...what exactly IS a fantasy recipe? I understand the general concept but what are the requirements?

I confess I know absolutely nothing about the Fantasy Recipes, so if the contest highlights this aspect of EF, perhaps that would be a good thing. (Perhaps others, like me, will then learn more about this).

Here is a link if anyone is unsure of what I am talking about for the fantasy writing.

OKAY so I'm super super late, but I disagree with the no photoshopping in the toy costume contest. Perhaps there could be a separate category for photoshopped images? I'll catch up soon! :3

Remember awesome kits contest we had way back when? I think it would be fun to try something like that with the Fantasies/Sex Recipes. Halloween-themed, spooky, silly erotica, with a bit of product placement thrown in. Entries include the story itself, the products suggested for the kit (usually 2-4 products, I believe), and instead of voting, how well each kit does in a given time frame (we would have to promote these so that each Fantasy gets a fair bit of attention) in terms of sales determines the winner. OR it gets split into two categories: Best-selling and Best-written The latter would be voted on by the community.

I think that is a great idea... but it is pretty complicated. That might be a separate idea from this contest.

Or should we allow the category to be open - Best Fantasy or Erotica?

I think that open might be better, actually. It will be more inclusive.

Just made it to this post, but I've seen on other sites where you have to do a shout out or something like that in pictures, so like, make a sign with your username or something like that
