To costume or not to costume, that is the question (Halloween!)

(Pout) My kids told me "You're too old to dress like a cop for Halloween. Why don't you be Ma from Little House or something?" Do these kids KNOW me?

Yes, I embarrass my offspring. It's my job.

Okay, so looks like you already found a costume, and this isn't exactly inexpensive, but you said fierce, sooo..... link link lol

Well it's not just the teens. Kids YOUNGER have even tried to start something. I was dressed to scare people at my friend's haunted house... and this kid kept shining a light in my eyes and even tried to hit me with his sack of candy and ... more
Woah! I'd be frightened too! I don't trust kids and the power of peer pressure and social expectation. I know most kids/teens would do an awful lot of evil things to save face or make a reputation in their social circle.

Exactly. And it seems to get worse with the years. I remember as a kid it was okay for me to go outside, dad didn't worry too much. Now as an adult, I'm too afraid half the time. Even now going out on Halloween I'd rather be with someone than alone, you just never know....

Some parents really need to step up their game and pay attention to their children. But that's a rant for another day....

I'm going as a vampire, so original I know LOL. But, it's easy and can be done pretty cheap. I went to the Good Will in town and got a bustier type shirt in black velvet and I ordered the spiderweb bedjacket from here, so hopefully that fits to go over it! Then I already have some pale foundation that sadly is my shade in the winter lol, and I have some powder that I'll just overdo to make me look even paler. Add some dark eye makeup and some blood red lips and I'll be good to go! I'm debating between getting a wig or doing some black hairspray in my hair. Oh I got some fake fangs that are held in place with denture adhesive, so it should be fun! We're going to a party after we take the kids trick or treating. Since we'll be going directly from trick or treating to dropping them off at my parents' and heading to the party I wanted something that I could wear both while going out with them and also out to the party that night.

Alicia - Nothing wrong with a classic!

Naughty Student - I don't see many Robins, mostly Batmans. Good idea!

I wasn't sure about uploading a photo either but as long as I get my costume together, I think I'm gonna do it. Maybe I'll block out my face or just make sure I'm unrecognizable.

Costume hint: Anyone here watch "Criminal Minds"?
