Do you do anything on any holidays that don't relate to you?

Often in school and sometimes with work, you get off for holidays you wouldn't necessarily celebrate. Do you take it as an opportunity to do something, or just to relax?

With work, if my partner has the time off I will generally do something.
With school, it depended on if I was on top of things or behind.

I am of course assuming you mean "something" as go somewhere, do an activity, and not as do something related to the reason that you have the day off.

Occasionally. My family never celebrated holidays, but now that I'm with my partner, we always try to do a little something.

That was always the case in some areas of New York or Florida. On Christian Holidays, schools were closed and many businesses too, so Jewish families got the day off. Meanwhile, in heavily Jewish areas, schools also closed for Jewish holidays and so Christians got the day off as well!!!! PLEASE Don't jump me with; "what about Muslims, Hindus, Wickins, Rosicrucians, Scientologists, Mormans and Atheists.....and the zillion other faiths I could name"???

When I was in school, in the dark ages, we had Christians...and let me correct even that. We had CATHOLICS and JEWS. Even to find a Protestant, in my neighborhood was something we had "heard about", but no one ever met. There were a DOZEN CATHOLIC churches and a DOZEN Synagogues within ten miles our our house...and THAT WAS THAT. NO other "houses of worship". Just how it was in MY nitch of America.

Sometimes I try to do something festive with my family, sometimes I just chill.

For instance, we don't celebrate Easter, but I do typically do some sort of big Easter dinner. Mostly because we're all home and there's not a lot of places open, and it just seems like a good time to cook a big family meal and enjoy each others company.
