They are so commercialized in the US, I hate that they are pushed on us. Anyone else feel the same way?

I don't really care about the reason for a holiday. I just stay at home and I'm happy that I don't have to go to work.

But in other countries most holidays are not very much commercialized exept christmas and easter... and Halloween... and Mother's Day... and Valentines day...

OK you are right, they are commercialized.

I've never been a big holiday person so I don't do too much to celebrate but I agree, they are very commercialized.

What I hate more:

I don't have to spend money but there are people who believe this advertizing bullshit and look down on me because I don't spend money to buy a Saint Nimmerleinsday present.

i hate the way they are protrayed, but i love spending them with my family celebrating the true meaning.

I don't like that you're expected to give presents/chocolate or what have you in a lot but I do like getting off school and (sometimes) getting to visit family I don't normally see.

I can't stand Christmas, too much pressure from everyone (being family and work and retail etc) all piled into one month. I could get rid of that holiday.

I do too. one of the big issues is that is seems like there are SO MANY. We finish one and the next morning start living in a world themed on the next one. That really makes me punchy.
