Ours is making from scratch (scraping dark chocolate into a pot, mixing with milk and making HOME MADE Hot Chocolate (thick) with "home made" marshmallows (we now use the DENSE ones from William Sonoma..YUM), and enjoy that in BIG mugs while sitting around in PJ's and opening gifts!!!! Fireplace is optional (very nice, but in the HOT south, not often a good idea).

My family makes a set of candles that we let burn as soon as the sun sets Christmas eve. We always make sure to blow them out before bed, but we bet cookies on who's candle will last longest. Its like a game to make the night go even faster.
