I haven't done anything for Halloween in a long time. It's cool and all, but I am into monsters, masks, and horror movies all year long!

I hope to celebrate Samhain this year too, but I'm unsure if we'll actually be here, or if we'll be on a flight to Florida for my sweetie's Top Surgery. We may have to forgo the festivities this year of both Samhain and Halloween, as we will either be gone, or about ready to leave. It will be a very hectic time in general.

On a side note, if we can celebrate this year, I'll probably dress up for the Halloween aspect of things and possibly visit with my family. Sometimes we all get together at my grandma's house and go trick-or-treating, etc. I'd love to go as a Dirty Cop. Though of course, I'd probably wear some slacks under the costume as I would be sporting it in front of family.

I've been a Tavern Wench for the last few years. It's the outfit I wear to Renn Faires so I use it to answer the door, although we don't have a lot of Trick Or Treaters where we live.

I was Morticia for years and years. I had this fantastic, all lace black negligee, I looked great in it. I can't find the damn thing and I'm not Morticia without it.

Funny story. The first time I was Mortica, one of my kids was only about 3 or 4 years old. I put on a TON of make up, with a deathly white face. I came down the stairs, and the child said, 'Oh Mama, you look BEAUTIFUL!" I looked like death warmed over, with Cocksucker Red lipstick. Evidently, the kid liked that look on me.

Only if people want to scream "I've gone wide-sighted!"

And that is an awesome story about your kids' reaction to your Morticia costume!

We often bring out our cosplay (a bit elaborate for Halloween, in my opinion), but sometimes we can come up with costumes from our costume-y clothing collection. We often have a little party. I have no plans for this year yet.

I'd like to have my own little party but we usually go out to others or just stay home for the trick or treaters.

I wish I could throw things at trick-or-treaters and not get in trouble. Nothing hard or staining, of course.

I'm going as a witch this year! In fact, here is my costume:

Now I need to figure out something for my husband, and for our kids. Maybe we should just go as witches and warlocks and be done with it, haha.

I won't be dressing up, as I will be trick or treating / passing out candy with my daughter. I do like the idea of getting a sexy costumes to surprise that special someone with though, that's a good idea.

Who knows, maybe someone will throw an early Halloween party that I'll be able to attend / dress up for. We'll see!

That sounds great! I may need to look up tours for Waverly Hills Sanatorium! I live in the same state and my man's birthday is in October. I was going to throw him a party and make it a Halloween party, but something spooky like that with just the two of us could be much more fun and the money we save on costumes and party supplies, we can take a tour and maybe go out to eat as well!

As for actual Halloween, I will just be taking my son trick or treating for the first time, and maybe having a horror movie marathon with my man.

Not sure what you consider nerdy, how much you want to put into it (I'm a copslayer so...). NES themed things are always a hit.

Queen from a chess set, librarian (rather like Evelyn from 'The Mummy'), anything anime related, secretary, school teacher (check out Aqua's 'Bumblebees' video for that one), RPG girl-player ...

True story. I think the bf would faint if I went as Misty or Zelda.

I'd like to be a cop, with hand cuffs and fish nets this year. I saw a shiny cop hat at Target, that looked really sexy, but their woman's cop costume was too cheap looking and didn't fit well.

I looked at one other place and the stuff was pretty expensive. I am going to have to look around. Maybe I can pick up a white or blue shirt, a short skirt and accent it with cuffs, a badge, a thick belt, toy gun etc. Shiny Hooker Boots might go well with it, too.

Usually, I wear a Renaissance Bar Wench outfit (same one I wear to the Renn Faire) but, I'm kind of tired of it after several years.

I was Little Red Riding Hood one year. I made a hood and cape, and wore it over a gingham dress with a white bib apron. We always have a Malamute, (a Malamute looks JUST like a wolf) and had a female then. I dressed her up as "grandma" with a lace cap, and cape, and I carried a basket of "Goodies." It was really cute.

An Engineer. (Like the guys My Man works with.) Get a short sleeve white shirt (make sure you can see your undershirt underneath it) a pocket protector, black Flood pants, worn really high, white socks, nerdy shoes, a slide rule on your belt and an ink stain on your shirt pocket. Some of the people in My Man's department dress up like this, either for Halloween or for the Anniversary of the Business, Nikola Tesla's birthday etc. Some of the men who work there dress like this (sans slide rule, but with a graphing calculator instead) almost every day.

I'd love to go to a "Mad Men" party. All the cool, retro, nerdy stuff from the early 60s.
