Americans have an affinity for celebrating seemingly non-celebratory things for any given reason. Today is National Grilled Cheese Day and April is National Grilled Cheese Month.

I like my grilled cheese with ham, in France this would be known as a "Croque Monsieur". Paper thin slices of fresh deli ham cooked to perfection with a slice of good old American cheese, toasted bread and a thin layer of mayo on each slice. It's so good for breakfast, lunch or dinner!
If I go the traditional route and just do the bread and cheese without ham, I like to dip it in ketchup.
