Rocky Horror Picture Show

I just found my DVD of this movie. I know there are some funky cats in this circle.

Anyone have anything to say about RHPS? Love it? Hate it? Never heard of it?

I like it. I used to love it, but I just haven't seen it that much.

Ahhh!! I love Rocky Horror Picture Show. J thinks I am fucking insane for it, but I grew up in Cali and every now and again you can catch the movie in Hollywood or elsewhere in all it's glory and I LOVE it!!!!

I saw this the first time on DVD, and wasn't crazy about it. I want to see it like they did in Fame, with the people in the theater doing the acting.

Did it between 1993-1999 in the theatre - I even played Magenta a couple of times. The most fun were the pre-shows ... I really am surprised we got away with all the crap we did. I was the Call Line Queen and cast make-up artist from 96-99.

Love the movie; the motion picture debuts of Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, and Tim Curry (who is strangely denying ever having done it). Plus, Meat Loaf had the best cameo appearance ever - bust in, do a song, then get chopped up and served for dinner. However, I've burned out on it and I can only watch it on Halloween now, and usually at home and just shouting call lines.

Fun times, though. It really is an Experience, it can't be fully appreciated in the quiet of a private home.

LOVE IT! And love Tim Curry in a corset, though I don't find him attractive when he's *not* dressed in drag.

Our BDSM group puts on an annual traditional show of the Rocky Horror picture show. I will work the tickets, but refuse to, at all cost, watch the movie. It's annoying and downright confusing. But I do love helping out, and seeing all of the crossdressers is pretty badass.

My mom and uncle went many times to the early showings of this 35 years ago - and acted it out etc. They loved it.

When I saw it for the first time, when I was about 13, I was like "what the hell is this?".

I was never a big fan, honestly. And this one die-hard fan that I worked with kinda killed it for me with her constant references. Wanna guess her dom name? Heehee

It's one of my favorite movies, and sadly I only got to discover it just last year

I try not to make too many references, only to people who would appreciate the humor

I like the things people do next to the screen that interact with movie, esp during "Dammit Janet"

Love it!!! - But you must go to a midnight showing in a theater -- that makes it so much better.

Love it! I haven't seen a local theater do a screening in a LONG time, but I have been dying to take my man to one, he has never been!

I know! That's the best part. I like making my own kits, but for any of you that don't know, you can usually buy a kit at the showing.

Love it, have since I was a young teen. Used to go on Friday nights but haven't been in years. And one of my boyfriends was Eddie in a local stage cast.

I love it! It's been years since I've gone to see it, though I do have the DVD.
One of the times that I went it was the stupidest thing ever. There were no actors, no one did anything, it was just them showing the movie. Stupid. I have gone to see it done correctly though.

I watch it every year at Halloween on TV. I have not got to a screening as of yet unfortunately. I do know there is a theater in town that does put it on every year.

Sigh...I hate that movie. My mother-in-law thinks it's so funny. What's so funny is she's the one who told me about it to begin with!

Did anyone watch the Rocky Horror Glee Show tonight?! They did an amazing job on the songs

I love the RHPS. I think it's the root of my attraction for men in lingerie and heels...

Tonight's Glee episode was all music from it, with edited lyrics of course. It amused me and I think I'll be digging out my RHPS DVD sometime soon while it's on my mind.

I love this movie. In ATL they play it in a theater on Ponce de Leon, where you get the "true" experiance of people in the audiance throwing things and playing along with it.

Ex. During the song "There's a light over at the Frankenstine place" every one holds up their lighters.

I hope I can go see it there one day. My mom has been like 20 times since she was a teen.

VIRGIN!!!

Really, try to find a local show to experience it. You can even look it up online to find a place. If they have a pre-show, I should probably warn you that you will be brought up in front for your 'devirginization' and made to do silly (but still legal) things. When I was devirginized in 1993, we newbies were all given red balloons to hold over our heads while the audience sang 'Happy Gang-Bang to You!' and the guy playing Riff 'popped our cherries' with a pin. We were sent back to sit down. I've seen some newbies married off in same-sex unions (we had a guy called Reverend Lips), molested by stuffed animals (most popular was the Tickle-Me-Elmo), and made to perform stunts like in Double Dare (they usually ended up covered in shaving cream).

It's a lot more fun than it sounds. After going through something like that you tend to lose your fear of being in front of an audience.

I used to go to a local theatre showing it once a month here when I was in high school and college. Even got to play Janet for the wedding scene with the players doing it in front of the screen. It was so much fun. I haven't been in almost a decade though. I need to get some friends to go with me and someone to watch my kid

And I'm sorry, the Glee episode... aside of course from Barry Bostwick and Meatloaf having a cameo... made my head hurt. (Don't throw things at me!)

I didn't care for it in respect to RHPS, but DAMN John Stamos is ridiculous hot, and he just gets better with age.

I did like the fact that my 5&7 year old were able to enjoy RHPS without the inappropriate parts. Although, the greatest question EVER asked by a 7 year old is now "mommy, what is a transvestite?" That stopped me dead in my tracks. Since my younger daughter was there and she is SO impressionable and would tell EVERYONE at school I just said "Tim Curry in a corset." That satisfied her until I could give her a better answer when her sister wasn't around.

We will be watching the movie as a family this weekend (well, myself, my 7 year old, and her Godmother...since J hates the movie SO much).

On a related note "Toucha Toucha Touch Me" is totally my favorite song EVER!

Heard a lot about it, but I haven't gotten to see it yet. I really want to go to one of the performances where they act it out in front of the theatre while the movie's playing.

I love the movie, the soundtrack and the musical. If you've never seen the movie, watch it for the first time in a theater with a live cast. Don't let the DVD/Blu-ray take your RHPS virginity.

I love everything about it! I used to attend the local shows and participate when I was younger. Unfortunately they shut down that theatre and no one has done it here since...
