Sooooo, do you have something special coming up in the new year?

I bought my first toy- ha! I'm watching the tracking number like a hawk. My partner and I have been adventurous in other ways, but this is the first time an actual toy is entering the picture. I'm excited!

Other than that, I'll be halfway done with my masters after spring semester comes to a close. Working full time (and then some) means it's slow going, but it feels great to approach the halfway mark.

I purchased a Hitachi magic wand ("Original Magic Wand" these days, apparently) and an attachment for it. My older sister and close confidant swears by hers. I thought about getting a different type of wand to see if different patterns etc. work well for me, but bought based on the reviews I'd seen and how the preferences of those reviewers matched up with my own. In a perfect world, it will be a great match for me-- and if it isn't, I'll research something different. It should be arriving just in time for some nasty winter weather that will leave most of the area indoors. Convenient!

Thanks for the congrats!! It's exciting.. and oddly, it seemed like I needed to get to a certain level of self-confidence to feel comfortable buying a toy. If it weren't 3am here, I'd have a better way of phrasing that. less

Awww! I totally understand what you mean about the level of confidence needed. I was really, really shy about toys when I first learned about them but now I'm a proverbial monster (and toy snob). I hope you like it. I'm terrified of the Hitachi. It's way too intense for me but I have a very sensitive stomach, so jarring vibrations or movement can set me off. Hell, I gag if I get a deep lung of cold air. Most people swear by the Hitachi, though. Let us know how it works for you! less

I've read many reviews about the Hitachi & lots of people love it. from what I understand, it's very strong. if it's too intense for you, you can always use it for sore muscles.

I've been on a life long journey exploring my body - yes, we are never totally done. I'm in my 50's & still discovering more. it's been a fun journey for the most part. less

Trial 1 of the Hitachi (without attachment for the first time): I'll be honest- I was nervous to use it. I was with my partner and he used it for its intended purpose to help ease my nerves. Initially, there was a jokey vibe in the room since it was something new to both of us. I used it on the lower of the two settings with lubricant, which was helpful. I kept getting really close with it, changed around my own position (so I was flat on my stomach), and with both Hitachi and partner going simultaneously was done twice in the span of a minute and a half. It's funny because I used to be a clitoral-stimulation-o nly person, but that's changed in the last year. I couldn't quite get there with that alone tonight. I'll continue exploring what works for me (on my own, as well as with him) now that I've given it a go.

Sidenote: once done, I then obsessively googled best cleaning practices for the wand. Glad there are lots of folks out there with feedback and advice! less
