Does anyone eat tamales for Christmas? Every year, the local news runs a story about people lining up to get tamales in time for the holiday and causing a temporary tamale shortage. Apparently, tamales are America's oldest Christmas food.

My extended family makes a couple hundred at christmas time, and anyone that helps get to take some home. Its our tradition and we even fly them to each other from different states if someone lives too far. Tamales mean the holidays are near.

never heard of this. interesting. I like tamales, just don't know if I would want them for Christmas.
