Hey there EF,
My university has a project called the Alternative Clinic, which a student back in the 1970s began to address the reproductive needs of women. It is a student-run free clinic that is kept open via the volunteer work of students and the dedication of the single gynecologist on staff. With grants and administrative funding the clinic has stayed open and today is still offering free pap smears, gynecological exams, HIV testing, Monistat, pregnancy tests, etc. The clinic also does seminars about safer sex, orders and distributes free condoms, and offers STI testing among many other things. We're now in our third decade of service, and our mission remains the same: to help women access the reproductive care that they need for free in a safe, comfortable and confidential environment.
Each year we have an event called Women Out Loud which showcases women's art, music and also helps spread the word about safer sex, which for us includes using sex toys. We educate about 1) sex toy materials, including the issues with certain materials that may contain harmful substances such as cadmium and 2) how sex toys can be used solo or shared in a safe and hygienic way. As part of this program of education, each year we give away books, toys, bottles of lube, all kinds of stuff to promote safer sex. We usually buy these things out of our budget, but because of budget cuts in our state, and because safe, quality toys/lubes can be expensive, this year we are being forced to scale back. We are not sure if we will be able to afford our raffle. The event will still go on, but without this wonderful and sexy part of it that we have come to be known for (and which also does a lot to help promote our event!)
I am posting for two reasons.
1) I would like to see if anyone would be interested in donating anything, even if it's a used book that's in good condition. If you are interested in donating a toy that would obviously have to be new and could not be used. You could also donate something like a bottle of lube. If you are interested please comment here and I can contact you privately with the contact information (for the sake of the organization's privacy).
2) If any of the EF administrators take pity on our event, perhaps you would consider offering our Clinic a discount. If you comment here I could also contact you privately with information for contact. We can validate the legitimacy of the Clinic for you and also, if anyone's interested, post picture of past events. Hell, if you wanted, we could even take a video of the event to prove it really happened! In the meantime this is the livejournal for our clinic:

Thanks for your consideration. I know it's kind of a long shot but I'm leaving no stone unturned for this. If this post is in any way inappropriate than feel free to delete it!
