I rather have the stereo for background music, but then again I suppose a TV could provide that. As for the hubby, he much rather have the TV.

This is tough question as I tend to listen to most music on headphones, or the computer. I also watch about 99% of anything I watch on the computer.

I would probably have to go more with stereo however, as I have invested in much better than average speakers and headphones for the computer.

I would have to go with TV. I watch more TV then anything plus I listen to music on Pandora thru DirecTV now if they had a nice surround sound to go with the TV that be awesome. The one I got is loud but not loud enough.

For me hands down a stereo. If no one else is home I can go a week without turning on the tv. I always have music going though.

We use to have really fancy stereos - but you don't need that much gear for MP3s - they are so compressed that most of the quality is lost before it ever gets to the speakers.

TV...I would not get the use out of hi end audio...unless I was using it to hear the TV.

a hot stereo for me like Onkyo's $1,300 system. if there's anything better than that, I'm for it! I like music much more than TV. my 10 year old TV works just fine. besides I can watch DVDs & TV on my PC too.

I would love a good stereo system because I love music, but I think I would go with the TV instead. I could always play music through it's speakers anyways.
