British TV vs. American TV

Contributor: Cowgirl-Cutie Cowgirl-Cutie
Which do you prefer and why? Do you watch more of one nation's shows than another?

For me I'm going to have to go with British. I tend to lean more toward shows that are British based than American these days.

Can't stand hearing about British TV anymore. Too many obsessive fangirls. The BBC has become the Twilight of tv channels in my eyes. People can like what they like, but I just can't stand it.

I'm open to both, for me it's about good story lines...I don't care where it comes from as long as it's good.

I prefer american shows. But I hate how they never end! British shows are known for having a decent ending!

I am always afraid to stay a show because I know it will never ends or the ending will be disappointing! Lost! Or drag on how I met your mother. Firefly, dark angel, flashforward, V, I CAN can keep going but everyone knows this

That's actually one of the things I like about British shows. They play out, have a good ending, and that's that, with the exception of the ones that were canceled unexpectedly.

Personally, I watch a mix of the two. I like the silly but witty British shows, and I also like the slapstick comedy of American shows.

I love the dry, satirical humor of British television much much more than... Kim Kardashian, Teen Mom, Bitch-wives of so-and-so or Octomom shit or w/e American television is AWFUL... granted there are a few things, such as food network that I enjoy Iron Chef and Chopped on.... and Weeds and House MD but... both of those have that satirical-type humor mixed in with more direct humor too so... -shrug-

However Sherlock can kiss my ass - do not like that crap andd I watch what I watch on Hulu (so only one actual television show - everything else is movies)

Don't watch TV at all. There was a time when I was addicted to it, now I have trouble just watching a half hour sitcom. Must have gotten burnt out on TV I guess.

I like some of both, but I'm not a person to watch sitcoms programs. I don't really watch that much TV because I'd usually rather read, it's quieter. But I record shows such as Dexter, Weeds, the Law & Order franchise or the older, British series, Bad Girls and watch them in a marathon. I do also like cooking & DIY stuff like Holmes on Holmes or even RuPaul's Drag Race. But as far as the basic, primetime, network programing, I don't watch it & I don't know enough about the British shows out nowadays.

I don't really sit down and watch programs, but when I do, it tends to be both.

I can't stand British TV programmes. I find it very dull.

I have some British shows I really love (Doctor Who, Being Human, Primeval) but most of the TV I watch is American.

Both have their benefits. Although there's a few great American shows, it is hard to beat Top Gear for great entertainment
