Are you crazy for sci fi movies/books about some weird, tyrannic future? :D

They're just okay. I like stuff set in alternate, fantastical worlds better.

I don't really care for them. I like Equalibrium on because of Christian Bale.

The hunger games is not exactly similar to a good old action movie. It's hardly scifi, also.

I have a love/hate relationship with them since they actually make me worry about the future, but they're also REALLY good. So I think I do like them, but I need to be in a particular mode to watch or read.

Dystopian (opposite of Utopian) stories have been around for a long time. I read 1984 back in high school and liked it well enough but hated Fahrenheit 451. My wife read the Handmaid's Tale in college and hated it too. I have yet to read the Time Machine or Brave New World. However, I did like the Running Man. I hope I have time over Christmas break to read Armageddon's Children.

It's definitely a hit or miss. Then again, since I also like campy sci-fi, it's all good

Love 'em! Although I'll admit that I tend to get a little paranoid because of them.

I love dystopian novels! If you're looking for a good classic novel, try WE by Yevgeny Zamyatin.

They're ok, I guess. Although I love speculative fiction, I'm not a huge fan of dystopian stories.

Post-apocalypse and dystopia stories make me really uncomfortable. I never liked having to read books like Fahrenheit 451 or Brave New World or The Giver in high school. And I couldn't get into The Hunger Games or pretty much any zombie movie either.
