I think his cover of "Hurt" is the best he's covered and would prolly be a song he would've written (if he were Trent Reznor's age/generation).

I actually like his songs covered by other people. Social Distortion's cover of "Ring of Fire" is awesome.

I saw them perform that in concert many, many years ago when that album came out

I chose Folsom Prison. Though I also love the hangman countdown song... *9 more minutes to go!* and Don't bring your guns to town is a gorgeous song as well.

Really though, Ring of Fire is what you always end up singing with friends it seems....

True. His cover of hurt is amazing. Have you watched the video? It's so incredibly creepy and haunting.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I love his cover of Hurt, and I love Social Distortion's cover of Ring of Fire. Cash also did a cover of One (U2 song) that is really good.

My favorite Cash song actually isn't a Cash song, technically. It's "Highwayman" performed by the supergroup The Highwaymen (which included Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson).

I also love "A Boy Named Sue" because it was written by Shel Silverstein

.....and "Sunday Morning Comin' Down" though that's technically not a Cash song either, his was a cover (Kris Kristofferson did the original).

Now that you mention it, I have heard of that cover! Considering what that song is about, I wonder how sensitive Cash really was.

I like a lot on that list but absolutely love "Folsom Prison Blues" I'll just sit in the car and sing it all the time and tick people off because it gets the song stuck in their head and we don't have any of his albums, lol.
