We're in total agreement! The Mighty Ducks was an *awesome* movie. I just saw Princess Bride for the first time a few months ago. I wish I had seen it as a kid!

JR, I had a love/hate relationship with Beetlejuice. I loved the movie (especially the musical dinner scene), but it scared me so much that I made it a point to never say "Beetlejuice" 3 times within an hour

I didn't read the book until I was an adult, I absolutely love that book. I'm passing it on to my daughter to read this year, I am sure she'll love it and she'll finally understand why Mike always says "as you wish!" when I ask him to do things LOL

There wasn't much back when I was little, so:
Charlie and The Chocolate Factory would have to rate #1. I remember we would wait for them to show it on tv once a year.

I also used to watch the Saturday Afternoon Scaries, all the old Vampire movies, Vincent Price doing the Edgar Allan Poe stories, etc..

I'm gonna date myself here.

Peter Pan (the Disney Cartoon.)

Robin Hood (Disney, I had a crush on the kid who played Robin's voice.)

The World's Greatest Athlete (yeah, you won't know it, Disney OLD stuff, CUTE guy)

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Gene Wilder, not the Johnny Depp one)

Yellow Submarine, the Beatles trippy cartoon, had to wait until it came on the 3:00 movie when I was a teenager.

Alice in Wonderland, Disney again

Sleeper, Woody Allen (I was actually intrigued as a kid by the Orgasmatron, a sphere, which one would hold in the movie for simulated sex. Weird.) I see a stranger pattern here.

This was before VCRs or DVD players, so you'd have to wait for them to either be re-released to theaters and beg your parents to take you, or wait until they came on TV. I had albums of a lot of these movies, you could listen to the songs and hope to catch some dialogue. I would have loved something like a VCR or DVD when I was a kid.

Oh, Star Wars!

I completely forgot about the first 3 Star Wars movies (4, 5, and 6). I was hopelessly devoted to Star Wars as a kid.

I was a Disney child through and through.

All the Disney princesses, and just all Disney movies. Particularly Lion King and Aladdin.

Beauty and the Beast and Lady and the Tramp.

Oh, and Fantasia

And I loved the velveteen rabbit but I got Scarlett Fever when I was 8 or so and was scared to death that my parents would have to burn my toys like in the movie so I laid in bed and didn't touch a toy or a book or anything for a week!
