Elfen Lied is a manga and was later adapted to an anime. They differ a lot. I own the anime and recently read the manga online (it's not available in US but MangaFox's Elfen Lied page, recently stated it's been licensed for a US release).

Have you seen or read it?

PS the manga end is way better and the last chapters will make you cry like I did.

I've not read it, but I LOVE the anime. I actually named my son after one of the characters in it. Where did you find the manga online? I'd love to read it and see the differences.

I watched the anime but I didn't read it, my bf did though and said they were very different. I'd like to watch it again to refresh my memory because I don't remember much, I just remember liking it.

Never read of saw it, I think maybe that is the one my Baby keeps on telling me to see because she loves it, but I just don't like animes and mangas because of the way they are drawn, a little annoying style...

if you find a chapter confusing, this site link explains every chapter. I suggest you bookmark it as most people find the end a bit confusing, and you may need it to fully understand the end.

I usually don't like bloody violent stuff but Elfen Lied and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni are MUST SEE animes.

Never heard of it til' now. I don't follow the anime thing and have no interest what so ever in it so it probably would not be able to hold my attention.

I have watched it. I thought it was OK. It wasn't quite to my taste, but violence wasn't a problem--I have a habit of reading manga that can get pretty bad. ^_^; I am more of a manga person and from what I know of it, I might need to give it a try.

No. I know of it, I've been told it's amazing, but it is just not my type of manga/show. Same with Neon Genesis Evangelion.
