Apparently I'm behind on the popular stuff, but tonight my husband had me watch the funniest video - Psy - Gangnam Style. The guy in the elevator is hilarious, and the song is rather ridiculously catchy.

Has anyone else seen this?

I don't understand why it's so popular. My friend showed me the video a month or two ago, and I didn't get it then either. In the past few days I've noticed a lot of people making their own music videos with the dancing and whatnot.

I did watch it, the music itself is sort of catchy and the dancing is alright I suppose...but for some reason most of the male outfits made me laugh.
To me it looked really sort of silly overall, but I'd say it was worth a few minutes of my life to see it once. xD

Now the PvZ (plants vs zombies, it's the zombies dancing in it) parody of it my bf posted on his wall...that's absolutely hilarious!

Yup, Woman China introduced the video to me about two months ago. "Extra" invited Psy onto the show last week and had him lead a "Gangnam Style" flash mob in The Grove - it was kinda cool!

K-Pop is on an upswing at the moment. The English translation of the lyrics is pretty neat.

"WHAT DOES 'GANGNAM STYLE' MEAN?

Gangnam is a wealthy neighborhood in the South Korean city of Seoul where young people go to party. In the song, Psy describes the kind of guy he is and the kind of girl he wants, painting caricatures of the ostentatious culture of people who hang out in Gangnam.

OMG The guys were playing League of Legends the other night when Arch sent the link to that video to Sigel. You should have heard the laughing and hysterically funny conversation. Then the next morning Sigel couldn't get the song out of his head and was all !!

xD Yup, that one exactly...anything with zombies in it catches my eye so it was pretty much impossible not to watch.

And it really takes some guts to do even a more subtle commentary like this-- from what I've seen, it's not as normal a thing in South Korean pop to do social commentary of any kind really, so the fact that it's become so popular is kind of amusing in that respect. (I could be wrong, please correct me if I am.)
