What's the most interesting idea you ever learned from a movie?

I think for me, it would have to be from the opening of Apocalypse Now, when Martin Sheen is narrating and says, "Everyone gets everything he wants. I wanted a mission...".

I was about 17 when I watched that film for the first time, and for years and years I kept thinking about the idea that everyone gets everything they want. At first I rejected the idea, but the more life experience I got, the more I realized it was true. That led me to be careful about what I wished for, for sure!

How about you? What's the most interesting idea you ever got from a movie?

Pretty much the whole movie/book "Fight Club".

The ironic thing is that Chuck P has made a lot of money on it, which is against the principles he wrote about.

I think I'm the only person I know who still hasn't seen that. Just added it to the Netflix queue...

Probably that no matter how people try to change you, through conditioning, force, and other methods, you'll always revert back to how you started out if you weren't the instigator of change (A Clockwork Orange).
