Mmm. Vinyl. :)

Anyone else listen to vinyl records? Do you have a large collection? What genres do you listen to?

I only have about 30-ish records, slowly collecting more for the record player I just got for Christmas. I like my good old 80's rock, as well as my big band/swing, jazz, and my Audrey Hepburn move soundtracks.

I'm listening to Louis Armstrong right now.

I don't have any records, I guess I don't understand the reason people prefer records over cds or mp3s. My brother always acts like his music collection is so much superior to mine since he has mostly records.

I don't have a problem with people using records, I just don't see what the big deal is.

I sold all my albums after I got married. I wish I still had them. They would probably be worth a lot now. Oh well, that was almost 30 years ago.

I don't have a problem with ... More
Hm, yeah, it is sort of a "hip" thing right now. You're right that it isn't a big deal, some people just prefer finding music that way, just as you may prefer downloading all of your music instead!

I'm just a vintage/history geek and there's just something in listening to an actual record that makes me happy. I'm not a big techie person, and most of my musical interests were from the 20-60's. Records give me a chance to find things I wouldn't have otherwise on the internet.

It's just fun for me meeting people who have this interest as well. Some people use it as a means of being cool, I admit, but I'd rather not think of it that way.

We have a bunch, I like them. Nothing I'm going to go nuts over. We do have a player though. It's just not connected.

I have:
Carol King, Alabama, Chicago, Kansas, Classical from all sorts of composers, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and MANY more. Probably 100 or so records total...Nothing beats a good record. Maybe it's partially the frequency and pops and such that make it so satisfying. My vinyls are my favorite thing to listen to while cleaning and doing housework.

My parents have a record player, and they still have all their old records from back in the day. They listen to them pretty regularly. I don't have any, and don't really have any interest in it. I'm a lot less excited about music in general than most people, though.

Yes, I love the warm and expansive sound that comes from vinyl. I mostly listen to 90's EDM on vinyl.

I LOVE many different genres from the early to mid 90's all EDM genres. Since a lot of the songs I would rather hear spun/mixed/played only come on vinyl I had to put I love it.
