OKAY...time to bust or reinforce stereotypes..ha, ha (all in fun). Any TREKKIES in EF LAND?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
We all know the GEEK reputation of TREKKIES. Sitting home alone, in moms basement at 41, watching reruns and still a virgin.

However, my wife and I have a FEROCIOUSLY fun sex life and are STILL big Star Trek fans...all the iterations, TV/MOVIES...etc. SO...how many other TREKKIES out there in EF land?

What is the REAL scoop?

I went from being born to going to conventions with my parents. One of my youngest memories was at a star trek convention at the age of 4. I still love star trek and got my boyfriend into it. He likes when I dress up in uniform to be honest. Lol

I had to laugh when I saw this thread because I actually AM watching Star Trek right now as I type this. I guess that makes me a nerd lol. I just started watching it on netflix but never really watched it much growing up.

My brother is a huge trekkie, he goes to conventions and things like that.

Big ST fans here; couldn't live without it! Back when the DVD box sets were like $150, we accidentally broke one of our discs (TNG, season 2, shortened season) and went to Musicland and paid $150 plus tax because we couldn't stand being without one disc.

We're both geeks. Well, truthfully, he's a geek, I'm more of a nerd. LOL!! But we have incredibly hot sex!

Not a big fan of TNG, but I love TOS . I've been to a bunch of conventions - I've seen William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, Marina Sirtis, and even Tom Cruise and Ron Perlman among others. I have some awesome pictures with Klingons at "Quark's Bar" and a ton of memorabilia. I've embarrassed my husband a lot at them - he's not quite as big of a fan - but getting to talk to Shatner from the crowd was worth it

I grew up with Star Trek but never went to conventions or anything. It's a good show though.

Between my husband and I, we own every movie, every episode of TNG and Original Series, every episode of the animated series, and every comic book. Does that count!?

My mum cosplayed Star Trek when she was in high school! So I was raised watching the heroic efforts of Bicard, the terrible dilemmas of Data, and trying to learn Klingon!

Isn't the correct term 'trekker' instead of 'trekkie'? I like the show, especially DS9, but it's not my favourite thing on TV.

We both grew up on the original Star Trek and we also loved the movies. Not so much the spin off TV shows.

I remember watching Star Trek with my dad when I was a kid. He loved it, my mother hated it (one of their many differences.) I've not seen the newer versions and only seen a few of the movies. It's OK. But, it isn't my thing.

My Man is an Engineer and works with a lot of men who are Trekkies. What else would you expect?

An ex of mine got me into it, and I love me some Star Trek. I wouldn't call myself a Trekkie just because I don't think that I've put in enough effort for it or know it well enough. I've seen all of TNG and Voyager, have not seen much of DS9 or the original. Saw all the TNG movies, and the newest one with Chris Pine. But I do love me some Star Trek

I like DS9 the best, but really? I have a hard time suspending disbelief. It's pretty much the same across the board when it comes to Sci-fi stuff. I just don't get into it. However, I'm totally down with completely unrealistic fantasy stuff like The Dark Crystal or Labyrinth. Go figure!
