Same-Sex Marriage Commercials

Contributor: Septimus Septimus
Has anyone else noticed that we're seeing more and more same sex couples or instances of same-sex marriage in commercials? (there was an Outlook commercial featuring a lesbian wedding and a kindle commercial with a gay man talking about his husband)
I'm super excited that we're seeing these kinds of things in main-stream media, normalizing other sexualities and same-sex marriage is a big step toward getting it legalized across the country.
Have you guys seen these commercials?
What do you think?

I saw the Kindle one recently.

It's definitely awesome, and hope to see more of them (and positive responses to 'em.)

I watched the Outlook commerical online (we don't have cable) and thought it was pretty cool. Small steps in the right direction, that's how it starts.

I have, but I didn't think much about them; I typically try to ignore commercials in general. The Outlook commercial is kind of neat.

I've seen the kindle commercial, I think it's kind of a cheesy commercial but I appreciate that they show a gay couple. Definitely a step in the right direction.

I don't have cable but I do catch some interesting commercials on Hulu. I've taken many media analysis classes so these always catch my interest.

I personally love the laundry detergent commercial with the single dad talking about cleaning his daughters costume. Such a nice change from the typical suburban mom

And then letting her "play sheriff" while her princess gown is in the wash? Yeah, that one is pretty cool.

I haven't seen any of these, but I know several months ago, Target's wedding registry commercials and ads were supposed to feature gay couples.

However, I don't really watch TV that often. I've been watching it more than I have in the past, too.

I haven't seen them, but I don't have cable. I hope they are running them in my state: Illinois still lacks the votes necessary to recognize same sex marriage

I saw them, but I can't help but feeling like "oh I see what you did there!". It's hard to trust the motives behind advertisements.

I guess either way it's good that same sex couples are starting to be normalized a bit.

It's great to see that pro-marriage equality sentiments are finally out-growing the opposition, and commercials and the media are evidence of this. I'm always really pleased to see an actor I like come out for marriage equality, like Bryan Cranston, for example. It's all about love, folks.
