Sick of the GREY!!!!!

Contributor: Rod Ronald Rod Ronald
Anyone else had enough of this 50 shades of grey crap? It's everywhere now. It's like we have gone from Potter, to Teens boinking werewolves and vamps, to everything Grey. It's driving me bonkers! I'm mainly upset with the push with sex toys all trying to use it as a launching pad. I don't know. Rant away...

Agreed!

Although, I did/do love Harry Potter. I do NOT feel the same about Twilight and Fifty Shades

i'm sick of seeing 50 Shades of Grey everywhere i turn, only because the hype and popularity are totally undeserved. i don't mind something good becoming popular and getting tons of attention. i don't, however, really mind the sex toy or kink industry using it to boost sales because i support those industries and people who work in them and i think improved business and visibility for them is really the only benefit this inane, offensive, derogatory and possibly dangerous drivel could offer our society.

THIS!

Harry Potter was, and is, AWESOME. Well deserved popularity there. Twilight? Not so much. 50 Shades? Even less so.

I'm happy when sex stores sell more. We need sex to be less taboo. What we don't need is worthless trash like 50 Shades doing it. There's so many GREAT erotica books, including BDSM erotica, that deserve the attention far more.

I was totally ready to just ignore 50 shades until I learned that is was initially a twilight fanfic ::facepalm:: ugh!

I was sick of it when it first came out so, yeah, I'm ready for it to fade into obscurity.

I think it's silly how much attention the book has gotten, so it'd be nice if it faded. That said, we'll see what the next fad book is, so we might miss 50 shades of grey

Well, I was/am a Potter fan, but have to agree that hearing the 50 Shades thing everywhere we turn is getting tedious. My opinion is that all the hype can be attributed to the fact that people who had never picked up an erotica novel in their lives discovered this "new" niche when they read about the 50 Shades library scandal thing and are now making a big deal of it. Then of course all the sheeple have to join the fad because it's so popular now. "Woo hoo! We found out there's smut books out yonder!"
I'm not trying to be harsh, but I read the book thinking that maybe there was a reason for all the hype, and IMO it's the same kind of thing you can find on Literotica or Fanfic. Too bad they couldn't have been initiated with something that was better written.

Well said. I'm all for the world accepting sex toys, but not like that. Not as some flash in the pan fad. There are far better erotica out there, far far far better. I just see this thing being a South park episiode any damn day now. And that sucks! Thats it!!! I'm writing a damn book! Unlike any book ever seen. A Top 100 Best Vibrators Ever Pop-Up book!

Meh...I'm mostly sick of feeling like I'm being stalked by a book because I see or hear references to it everywhere I turn.
I could really care less, some people like it some don't and both preferences are just fine, but it's literally everywhere.

Oh thank you! ME TOO! I try to avoid it. I think most people have gone from thrilled to downright disgusted over it.

Yes. I wouldn't mind if it was a different BDSM book that wasn't, um, it.
