Stand By Me The Shawshank Redemption
and The Green Mile
His less paranormal books and stories tend to translate into movies better. Also, the second try of The Shining
. The made for TV one, was much truer to the book than the Kubrick's version with Jack Nickelson. (which I obviously can't spell.) Kubrick's was so far from the book, even though it was scary. I liked the made for TV movie, which King actually liked better himself. He actually hated
Kubrick's version as Kubrick strayed so far from the actual book and Nickelson was obviously already insane from the beginning. The entire book was about a man's descent into insanity
without even being sure the house was totally involved, not a crazy guy in a haunted house acting nutty. Kubrick didn't get it.
