In Sci Fi, movies, and books, the future is either "Blade Runner" dark and dystopian, or "Star Trek" clean and glowing (despite the burning garbage drums and dark dirty streets of the Klingon Home World).

Do you think the "real" future will fit into either of these "molds" or will it be something totally different?

I think things will improve into a "shiny and glowing" future.
The future is always going to be something very different then what we envision in either of those models.
