My wife and I are just starting to delve in to the "sex toy" area. I would appreciate advice on some kind of a "starter" kit. Not necessarily a kit but some good "get us going" toys. We are interested in vibrators, anal beads, and she really likes the "warming" lotions. Also some advice on what lubricants to use with the toys that you suggest.

My favorite lubes to use with toys are Maximus (also good for anal use) and Toy Fluid.

The first basic vibe I generally recommend is the Waterproof Turbo Glider Blueberry. It's inexpensive, waterproof, wonderfully shaped, and packs a punch! It's also generally slender and unobtrusive enough to be used on the clit during sex.

If you would like to have a rabbit vibe in your collection, my two favorites are the original Rabbit Pearl and the original Decadent Indulgence.

I haven't had great experience with many warming lotions (and be aware that most of the good ones are oil-based!), but I like those made by Kama Sutra, Shunga and Tantric Lovers (don't let the cheesy name fool you, they're good lubes!).

I'm not an expert in anal beads, but if you're not a beginner and can handle something a little larger, Fun Factory's Bendybeads are great (and silicone, so they can be sterilized).

Sounds like you two are off to your own good start. Everyone has their own preferences and it's the experience that makes it fun! I'd hesitate to suggest much even though there are fantastic toys out there, and great ones that I've reviewed. Mostly, I think it's a matter of reading reviews and looking at what actually appeals to you.

(Some people love a slim vibrator for example. That wouldn't appeal to me much.)

If you become interested in cock rings - especially those with vibrators - I suggest you read a whole lot of reviews before purchasing one. They are VERY hit & miss in quality and usefulness.

Just generally speaking, I have come to think of my purchases as "life-enhancing investments". Accordingly, I now really research the reviews of others and the material safety before purchases.

Speaking of material safety: I had no idea before joining this site about proper cleaning and general material safety. Be sure you research further about cleaning and materials than the flimsy "clean before and after each use" that is the sub-standard customary toy package direction.

I second the Blueberry. It's a really good deal.

Also I advise to carefully check the ingredients of lubes if you or your wife are sensitive to anything. I myself didn't think I'd have problems but ended up being allergic to glycerin, which is common in lubricants. Eden offers lots of glycerin-free products. I'd also recommend a water-based lube.

Just check around on the reviews and see what sounds good to you!

we have several kits that we have enjoyed. One that was really a lot of fun was the Bag of Love. It has the anal beads, a anal plug, blindfold, tape, a pocket rocket, a cock ring, lube and cleaner. I've heard great things about both the Blueberry and Xtreme, so either would be a good choice. If it's her first sex toy, something versatile that will allow for both internal and external stimulation is a good idea because it lets her find out what she likes. If you're interested in lotions, look into getting one of the little travel or weekend kits from Kama Sutra. They offer variety so you can find what you like as a couple.

If you're looking at anal beads, definitely look at one of the "stick" style beads - they're much easier to insert and you can use them for some thrusting too. Some of the stick beads are in the anal beads section here, others have migrated over to the "anal probes" section.

I just want to say "good for you and your wife!" Sex toys are such a fun way to spice up your marriage. I concur with the advice with everyone here. If you are into some anal play I suggest you try a Aneros MGX prostate massager. My husband loves it when I use this on him and I have used one myself a time or too also (we also use Maximus lube). It is small enough to be comfortable for a beginner, and in my opinion more comfortable than beads.
