What is the most "dangerous" sport or activity you have tried?

My hubby and I are both scuba divers, but we did a "technical dive" one time. We had special equipment and were breathing special mixtures of gasses that allowed us to go very, VERY deep. We have never been below about 100 feet before, but "technical diving" can allow someone to go as deep as 700 feet!!! With our special equipment and a couple days of training and practice we dove down as far as we felt comfortable, which was only a little past 200 feet...but that was plenty for us. We both decided that was "enough" excitement for us, and we will stick to "swimming with the pretty fishes, closer to the surface"!

Hot air balloon ride. It was a short ride but it was amazing! I got some pretty cool pictures, too! (:

I use to be a scuba diver - in fact I use to be an instructor. But cycling on city or suburban streets is by far more dangerous. I use to do it a lot - but now I confine most of my riding to dedicated (car free) bike trails.

I used to ride a crotch rocket motorcycle with far more courage than skill. I used to drive my little black convertible as fast as possible (it's limited to only 120) in traffic to and from work.
I joined the army for the first gulf war, I was never in combat btw. The war was over while I was still in basic training.

I love flying most of all, hubby and I took a helicopter ride in Hawaii over the volcanoes. I was so happy when they handed me a life vest as regulated until hubby mentioned that once the blades stop the helicopter just drops. No gliding as in a plane. Never the less, I still love flying and I still loved the sights.

Well, I've played football, lacrosse, and rugby. I've done some mountaineering and rock climbing. I've been on multi-day, self-supported backcountry ski trips way outside of cell phone range. And I cycle all over my suburban streets and NYC, too.

But the most dangerous activity in my life is probably the same for me as it is for you. It kills about 40,000 people each year in the US.

Be careful out there!
