I would totally keep it, I'm poor right now from alimony and child support payments, living the American dream!

I would keep it but only if I didn't see somebody drop it.

Keep it, sadly true. If you went around asking people if they lost money they would say yes just to steal it from you. But if I saw who actually dropped it, then I would return it.

keep it. i could ask someone nearby if it is theres and they could easily lie and say yes meanwhile it is not theres. so might as well keep it. ive lost plenty of things and dont get upset its my fault. i would totally understand if i lost a 20 dollar bill and someone found it and didnt ask me if it was mine

If you find it in a parking lot and try to return it to someone and they say it is there can you really believe them? I'd say you can't and might as well keep it.

If there was someone nearby (especially if they appeared to be looking for something), I'd ask if it was theirs. Otherwise I'd keep it, not gonna lie.

Keep it. IF someone came up to me looking for it, I'd fess up, but other wise finders keepers.

If I saw the person who dropped it, I would return it to them (I'm a believer in karma). But if I didn't see them then I'm $20 richer.

I agree with this.

I found $40 in a parking lot and kept it. Unless I saw the person drop it, I'm just going to keep it. I've dropped $200 before and whatever, life's a bitch. I hope that it went to a broke college student who needed books, and that's that. $40 went to a broke college student who needed groceries. I think it all kind of works itself out in the end.

If I saw it happen, if it was obvious someone was looking for it, or some other way to give it back I would definitely do that. That being said, I did find $100 bill sticking out from under one of my tires a few years ago. I saw it after I came back out of the store I'd gone into, so I know it was there for at least a half hour. There wasn't anybody around and I didn't know what to do with it, so I kept it. Initially I felt rather guilty about it.

If I saw someone drop it, I'd return it to them. But if it's just laying on the ground unattended? Yeah, I'm going to keep it. Who am I going to turn it in to? Someone else who is just going to keep it for themselves?

I'd keep it unless I saw someone drop it. Turning it in is just giving it to someone who will keep it.
Totally different story with wallets, jewelry, etc though.

If it was obvious who it came from, I'd try to give it back to them. Otherwise, with no markings, I'd probably keep it

keep it. In a parking lot...it's lost!

If it was more money I may think of returning it to closest location, but not for only 20.
