Our old one was so loud and would clog up so often that I was actually glad when it finally bit the dust. I replaced it with an InSinkerator Evolution disposal. It was pricey, but it is a beast. It devours anything and everything we feed it. It never clogs and is significantly quieter than the old unit. It was definitely worth the price.

I have a disposal. I wouldn't care if we didn't have one, but since we do I use it. Master and me are excited to buy a house one day, and when we do we are planning on having a compost heap, so, there won't be a need for a disposal.

I'm not sure what I would do WITHOUT my disposal. I cook right next to it, and bam, no garbage bowl, just toss in there.

The hubby was a plumber and he doesn't want one. He said if we had city sewer it would be ok. I'm not sure I would use it any way.

I use a disposal at my apartment, but at my home we compost. Pretty sure my roommates would throw a bitch-fit if I tried that here, they do for everything else.
