Anyone else keep a secret identity on EF? And if so, why?

I personally keep MOST of my life private on here, except, of course, my sex life. I have told many of you where I work (Women's Health Center and Planned Parenthood) and most of my followers know I am getting married in July to a handsome air force man. But other than that, I don't get too much into my life. I don't say exactly where I live, use my personal name, etc. I mainly do this because I want to make sure I don't bump into people from school/work/etc. God forbid family! The only people who really know I use EF is all of you, my roommate, fiance, and a few friends. That's about it.

On the other hand, being secretive is a little fun. This site is so much like Facebook, yet, you don't really need to use your face. I find that to be so awesome.

So, does anyone else keep a secret identity? What kind of secret identity do you keep? What is your reason?

I share some things, but I try and keep fairly anonymous so it doesn't get back to hurt my other side of my life in the homeschooling world. I also do my hardest to keep my sons name secret to protect the innocent.

I share some things. I really don't mind doing it here though. However, my EF life is definitely kept a secret from people I know IRL. There's no way in the world I would tell anyone other than my husband. The people I know aren't in any way understanding enough to hear me talk about sex toys.. lol

I don't use my real name or my face, not because I might run into someone I know. If there were on Eden, too, what would I have to be embarrassed about?

However, I have worked in the nursing field and so many of the people in this field are so conservative. We are even supposed to take a "morality oath" which is SO nonspecific, that they could include anything in it and try to take your certification and registrations if they wanted to.

I am just so used to keeping information private on the internet. Although everyone on this site seems so safe, I am still programmed to keep stuff private on the internet because of "weirdos" out there. I guess it never occurred to me to do otherwise.

I don't use my, My Man or my children's real names, nor any images in which I could be closely identified. I do videos, and I'm sure people who know me would recognize me, but I'm not worried about that all that much. It's more for my professional stuff, although I'm not able to work much in my field right now, due to my health.

I figure if someone were to recognize me from a sex toy web site, they are doing the same thing I'm doing and there would be no issue.

I'm becoming more and more comfortable with putting who I am out there. I do plan on making a living in the sex industry in some way, just not sure yet. Until I figure it out, I want to stay on the downlow.

I keep as many details private as I can, and I keep specifics very non-specific. I have told a couple of friends about EF, and they've read my reviews, but we talk sex anyway.

I keep most details concealed, though, not because I worry about someone I know coming across me, but rather because all of this forum is stored forever. I don't want someone to be able to back-track me and find out lots of personal information. That's part of the reason I chose a name that crops up a lot on the internet. Julie Christie is much more interesting to would-be stalkers than I am!

Great idea! I actually have a seperate card that I'm using for EF just in case, and the people I have a card with let me use my nickname on the card rather than my real name. Of course it's a realistic name such as "Andy" for Andrew.

Great point. I never thought about that. The only issue is that most of my family sees using sex toys as something VERY wrong unless you are married with a ring and a piece of paper. Actually, most of my family thinks masturbation is something very ungodly. If they knew I was on this site, several people I love may look at me very differently.

I'm also quitting my job soon since I finished school, and going on to do the job I've been working to get which is very professional. I don't want any backtracking to my account. That would just be trouble.

I do the same thing. I have no problem discussing my sex life or toys/products out in the real world or on here but I keep things vague.

I share, but I also don't want to run into anyone I know here. Also, I am an education major and, although sex and career are completely separate, if employers knew I was an active member of EF it may be frowned upon. *Exasperated sigh,* society is so unfair.

I am pretty open about much of my life but I maintain a shield around my children for obvious reasons. I am also very open in my real life about my involvement with EF.

I keep my identity mostly secret here. Not because I feel like I have anything to hide from you, but to keep people I know IRL from finding me here. A lot of my friends know what I do, but only 5(?) of them know my moniker. There are actually more people from EF that know my real name than IRL friends that know my identity here.

I'm not worried about running into people HERE that I know in real life because if they're here talking about their sex life and sex toys, than we have more in common than I originally thought! Truthfully, I think I would be more surprised to see them here than they would be to see me.

Since I am home for summer I'm stuck living in the close-minded bible belt, and this kind of thing is about as frowned upon as it gets. Plus I'm looking for a new job, and this wouldn't help.

I keep a secret identity because I worry one day I could lose my job (also Education) for the things I have done and said online. I think of my field as one that tries to be inclusive of different lifestyles, but it still depends where I am and who I'm working for.

Pretty much a open book here, anyone with my email will know who I am if they looked. Being in a new state helps a bunch, but I am not scared of anyone seeing what I do here. I am waiting for the day when someone comes into work and says "Hey I know you, I love your reviews/videos."

I keep it a secret for job reasons and many of my friends wouldn't necessarily disagree with what I post here, but we don't talk openly about it. I also have a lot of very personal things that I feel more comfortable sharing knowing that it is anonymous except for the few people who do have met me irl.
