I still like having a nightlight in my room *shrugs*

I figure that they'll grow up at their own pace, and when they get themselves ready for bed they'll turn it off if they don't like it. I've always preferred sleeping with a light on, but it's not a must. It just helps me find my way to the restroom when I wake up and such.

I don't think there is a certain age...I don't see anything wrong with a nightlight

We have a "nightlight" it's from Ikea it's a small box that has swirling pink and blue lights, we leave it on at night because my boyfriend has in the past suffered from night terrors and if there is not some form of light in the room he'll flip out in his sleep and push me off the bed or think someones in the room.

We'd have to say at whatever age they don't want it anymore. Some of ours like it pitch black when they sleep, others like a light.

I have an awesome nightlight that shows the solar system. But I'm a big kid. And clumsy. Soo... yeah.

I still sleep with a Glow-Worm! And I have no shame. I don't think that it's wrong for anyone to sleep with a night light. When I was a kid, my parents gave me a small night light, and a couple years later, tried to take it away, and I utterly panicked!

I don't think there's an age limit on night lights. Many adults still don't like sleeping without a night light. It's all a personal preference.

I don't think there is an age, some children are alittle more insecure than others. They grow out of those things in their own time

I don't think you have to outgrow a night light necessarily, unless it is needed because of another fantasy (monsters under the bed), that does need to be dealt with.

There's no age limit. For my family, nightlights are safety devices preventing us from bumping into objects in the dark and tripping on the stairs, we have nightlights all over our house.

I would say they're never too old.

They're too old when they're comfortable without it.

I'd start discouraging it by getting one that you can slowly turn down around 5. The main thing is that having light when you sleep can cause sleep issues

My dad uses a nightlight. He's 65. They are practical for people who get up a lot in the night. He doesn't use it because he's afraid of the dark, but he uses it so he can get up and go to the bathroom in the night without waking my stepmom up or tripping on something that he couldn't see if it were completely dark.

So I think they are appropriate at any age.

I don't use them anymore, but would if I have a choice. They're practical when I have to get up when it's still dark. =]

If/when the child no longer wants the light, or never. Plenty of adults use them.

When they don't need one anymore.
I was scared of the dark for most of my life. I don't sleep with one currently but there were months in my teen years where I slept with the lights on!

I honestly don't see an age limit cutoff for nightlights when the child no longer wants in the room is when I would remove it. My sister was 16 and still sleeping with a night light we shared a room all the years I shared a room with her I wanted to stupid thing out of the room but she had to have it. I think she still has one in her room to this day. I think the only place in my house that we have them are in the bathrooms.

no need for age limit on that.... i like it pitch black when i sleep but thats not for everyone... what ever helps them sleep

I don't think it's about age, nor do I worry about my kids and their night lights. One uses them and the other prefers a dark room. As for me, I prefer darkness, but I have many spread out thru the house so I can see enough to walk at night without having to turn on lights.

Hey! A person ain't never too old for a night light. Lol. Honestly, it's just a little extra light. It's not like needing that will cause serious psychological issues during a person's life... as far as I know anyway. I personally think if someone, no matter what their age, prefers extra lighting, so be it.

I don't think there is such an age! I like having a light on usually.
