I'm not sure I even know what a bowler hat is. But like I tell a lot of people who insist on buying or wearing things based on others opinions of cool. Buy it if you want it, if you like how you look in them and you think they're cool then get it. Who cares what others think.

I'm going to have to agree with this and add that if you know how to rock them and feel confident in yourself then people will look at you and think that you clearly must be cool.
For example, the boyfriend (and my 5 year old) have been rocking Greek fisherman hats that we got in Tarpon Springs, FL. They both think that they look cool and so, therefore, they do. I think that he's planning on wearing it when his band plays at some point in the future so that will up the coolness factor.
