Are pot pies still "in"?

We have had some really NICE GOURMET pot pies in the recent past, at parties. VERY upscale ingredients (Filet, Shitakee mushrooms...etc., with fine wine blended in). Delicious.

They are hard to get JUST RIGHT...moist inside, flaky outside.

As a vegetarian, we make our own.

I agree. Chicken Pot Pies are still very popular even at restaurants like The Claim Jumper here in Seattle.

My mother used to make pot pie with leftover chicken or turkey, but my kids didn't like them so I rarely make one. I see lots of people enjoy Shepard's Pie. That is easier to make and I make it every now and then.

I think people don't have them as often because people aren't cooking for real as often. Pot pies are great for using leftovers as well as AS a leftover.

You can get frozen ones, though. But of course they aren't as good.

I personally love them.

I didn't know food could be in or out...as long as it's edible and tastes good, it's fine to me. But, as for pot pies, when they're cooked correctly, they can be really yummy. Some people just butcher them.

We make them about every other week. Sometimes with "traditional" chicken pot pie ingredients. Sometimes we'll do a chili pot pie, or shepard's with a crust, etc. I LOVE IT. Jiffy crust and some simple ingredients makes an amazing cheap dinner that tastes good reheated the next day. I hate the premade, frozen kind though.

Can't speak for everyone but I love them, and it's one heck of a way to use up leftovers if you have poultry for dinner the night before.
My boyfriend hates them though.

I like the Marie Callender's pot pies. You can pop those into the microwave, and they will be sufficiently delicious in a few mins.

I love pot pies!! Chicken, beef, veggies, anything. My mom and grandma make them a lot. My favorite is a chicken wing one my mom makes. I have no clue what she puts in it but it's spicy and so yummy.

They are delicious, but they became a rare treat after realizing the calorie counts in alot of the prepackaged versions. Ouch.

I've never had one made with left overs, but I answered it that way anyway, since I knew what they were and know people who have had them that way growing up. I make mine fresh!

I love this make them at Thanksgiving from scratch. Other than that, I was raised on the frozen ones, but have only fed them to my kiddos twice in their life. Too much sodium and fat.

I've had them, and we grew up with them. I just don't like them anymore, and it seems none of my family does either.
