Are you self conscious?

Unfortunately I'm very self-destructive and I can't see it changing cause I'm never going to look the way I want to.

I am very, VERY self-conscious, but in a sort of apathetic way (if that even makes any sense).

I used to be painfully self conscious. I've grown a lot and only surround myself with body positive things (especially on Tumblr) to help boost myself up. It makes a big difference and I see that every day. No more Cosmo magazines. No more thinspo. Just a lot of self love.

I'm pretty happy in general. Would I like to change a few things - well less gray hair would be nice - but like having a flat belly, it's my choice not do to something about it.

I have the impression that women have more 'issues' than men. But I can't really say if that a is a societal stigma - or real.

I'm female and it depends on the day... or... the minute! Only kidding. But some days I do feel like a lot of things is wrong with me then other days I'm actually happy with all of me I used to struggle badly after going through a pretty nasty experience. I've gotten so far though that now, I rarely get too terribly down on myself. I wouldn't say I feel hopeless about myself. I used to, but I really can't remember the last time that I really, really struggled from these things. I have days for sure! Those only last a while and then I'm back to normal. One of my biggest problems was a health condition I was dealing with. I got extremely ill and stayed ill and unable to even live for a couple of years. I got better, but I still have days where I'll have random stomach issues and it'll cause a lot of bloating and I'll actually look 6+ pounds heavier and it gets me upset because I KNOW I'm not all that bloated and uncomfortable and I know I don't LOOK that way when the bloating and discomfort is gone, but I hate that most days are spent like that. Some weeks I don't even get to see my real body! Lol. That used to be very hard to deal with, but now I'm getting better and better with the health stuff and with how I feel about myself.

Now, I don't think any sex has it worse than the other. It is not about the gender, it's the person. Depends on what they've gone through, the deep reason as to why they feel that way. Mostly though, I don't think this is the type of issue that should EVER be put into comparison in such a way. Who's to say their struggles about their own selves are worse just because of their gender? That's something that shouldn't even be thought about. It isn't a competition. However, I KNOW more women who struggle with themselves than I do men. I have only known one man who had any struggles with self esteem and women? Nearly every single woman I know... except my mom. She doesn't seem to let herself worry so much about those things. However, women do have extra emotional stuff to go through. If you really dig deep, I'm sure there's a lot of info to show that women have it worse. I am not going to go there myself though because I don't think it is something that should be compared.

I'm a guy and I have been pretty lanky my entire life. Use to get crap about it when I was younger, but it never bothered me.

There are some things I really struggle with, but some days I am just fine with it all. I think women hear more about looks than men do. For example, after I started dating again post-baby, men would ask me if I had lost all the baby weight. More than a few men asked at least.

I hate my stomach! Especially when guys I know literally reach over and squeeze my little post-baby roll.

I used to be more self-conscious, but now I'm getting close to 20 and I'm not so much anymore. There are a few areas, but overall I would say I'm happy with myself.

I'm still self conscious about a lot of small random things, but its only when I'm going out and know I'm going to have to be basically on display in public.
