Do you belong to a nation which has been oppressed over history?

Just wondering, because just think about it, sooooooooooooooooooooo ooooo many nations, cultures have been oppressed over history, almost (pretty much) everywhere around the world - even in ways many don't really consider as oppression, or they feel that they belong to a nation of the "winners" (like for example members of countries which oppressed other nations, people, but they don't think of themselves as such people anymore, but as members of their new nation, for example Native Americans, or black people in the United States...) - so, do you belong, has anyone in your family, among your ancestors ever belonged to a nation ever oppressed by another nation, culture, or own country?
