Is anyone else sick of hearing about Black Friday every five minutes?
I have had to work retail for years before and while in college (Graduating Dec. 12th ) and I think that Black Friday has gotten pointless and annoying.

gotten used to it. Yesterday national news station commentator warned of fake prices and coupons. Some items suppose to be big % off, but actual is same price. Some stores always say it's reg $ 899. sale $499. Actual that is yr round price. And the coupons don't apply to a lot of items in the fine print.

I shop online and avoid parking, bus, driving, crowds, waiting to pay, looking for items. Nice and warm at home. And get to browse the EF forum anytime.

The "deals" suck anymore and then people complain about it.

I LOVE online shopping! The only thing I can't really do it for is clothes because I can never be sure it will fit or look right. My sister is one of those crazy women who strategize which stores they are going to at which times.

Agreed! I also had to work a retail job for a little while. BF these days isn't what it use to be. Having said that, one can still find great value if they are selective about where the shop, know what they are looking for and the average price of the items they are shopping for.

Out of curiosity, what is the last good deal you got? There are sometimes good electronics sales which is what most people go for.

I see. I've picked up too many necessary things exclusively through deep discounts. For me it's hard to say. I've been buying clothes lately because I need some that can go both ways, you know dressed up or more casual.

I have the same problem with clothes and needing to be dressed up or professional but not wanting to just own that type.

I do Black Friday shopping online sometimes. It doesn't do a whole lot for me because I'm never looking for the big ticket electronics where I could save hundreds. I just shop for smaller items.

I shop online for my kids christmas, not for big ticket items. But if I can save $5 on their must have video game or toy then yeah that excites me. I'm on a budget, so $5 off is great. I'm not going to go to the stores and do it, I'd rather be home with my family.

I wish more people were like you- I have had to deal with some of the rudest people lately.

Agreed! It seems that more ride people pop up during this time of year. Have you seen the latest round of mob mania at big box stores this year. It is nothing less than sickening and revolting.

Just the shots of the tv coverage of shoppers rushing in when the doors open is frightening. I don't envy you Tsh. Although I have been through many many situations like that. Grand openings of restaurants and crazy promotions.

I waited for Cyber Monday, though I dare say I always do my holiday shopping online anyway. I'm not a big fan of crowds in general, so being able to click my way through my holiday shopping list is ideal for me. Plus with all of the 'free shipping' coupons and such that I've gotten through email, it saves me that much more.

Just remember to be nice to your delivery person. He/she knows where you live.
