Have you ever called a business and put in good feedback for an employee?

Contributor: XxFallenAngelxX XxFallenAngelxX
I called to speak to the manager of a Sephora store, about a wonderful employee that works for that store. The employee went out of their way to help me while I was in purchasing some items. The manager was thrilled to hear this news.

The manager is going to give the employee some nice products today for their effort and willingness to go the extra mile.

I've been to many stores where the floor clerks just don't have time to assist me and some are flat out rude. I like to mention when someone is extraordinary.

Yes. Whenever I get amazing service, I try to give good feedback. I had it happen to me once and it changed my outlook on giving feedback. It was my first job and I've always struggled with shyness. I was a waitress and the person I was helping pulled my manager aside and told him how great I did. Felt good.

No I have never done that. If I found a store I could call and get some good service then I would. I have bad timing with people on the phone.

I do--as a store owner I appreciated customer feedback when I had employees. At crucial times regarding raises, promotions and lay offs, this makes a HUGE difference!!

My wife does it a few times a year. She tells restaurant managers when an employee does an exceptional job. Me, I don't even think about stuff like that.

No, but I've filled out surveys for stores and named people who I was pleased with and people who I wasn't pleased with.

I have, I think it's always nice to hear good feedback since most of the time people only call to complain about stuff. I once spoke to a manager to compliment an employee and they gave us a free appiterzer. I know if customer call in to compliment I will also give them something as well.

The manager was so happy that I called her, she kept thanking me. She told me that she was going to call the employee in right away to tell her about the call.

i've considered it...but i'm so rarely helped in a way that would inspire me to do such a thing. i do tip well...and tip very well when the service is great. that's my way of saying it in a restaurant environment.

No, usually because I can't remember the employee's name. Last year I wanted to call Amtrak and tell them about how great one of their bus drivers is. She was polite, a really good driver, very friendly, and even funny in her safety speech before we left the station. I had the pleasure of being on her bus twice and I wanted to let Amtrak know but I don't remember her name.

Yes many, many, many times. I actually have contacted three different companies in the last two months for something like this! I am very appreciative to those who are nice to me. Last week I actually sent SubWay AND Taco Bell a letter bragging about their employees. I visit both regularly and they have amazing employees. Taco Bell's are so nice to me & SubWay's are too, and there's two employees there that always make me laugh, so yes, I always make sure to go out of my way to put in a kind comment about a company's employees when they really stand out to me. A couple months ago, a girl at Ingles was very, very helpful and so kind to me & I went home and emailed Ingles to let them know. Good employees should be appreciated. Good people period should be, so I really like to kind of pay pack the people who are kind, especially when I think about how long they've stood there taking orders all day and then they go out of their way to make me smile.

I was shocked to see the majority of people here never have done this.

If you experience total rudeness, that too is grounds to make a comment. First though, I take it up with the person instead of going straight to their manager because sometimes it's a misunderstanding. I can think of one in particular where I thought a girl was being rude to me. I thought she said "well duh!" while I was paying for my things, but it was a misunderstanding and it's a good thing I took it up with her instead of running to her manager. Also, I always give someone a chance because I don't know what has caused them to be upset that day, but if they're very nasty to me, then I can't write that off as a bad day. Having a bad day is no excuse to be hurtful or totally mean. It's best to say something to THEM, but I'd have no qualms going to a manager if someone really crossed the line.
