No, I might be caught off guard being asked that, but if they want to be safe I see nothing wrong with it.

Not at all. I think it is important to start with a clean slate when having sex.

Not rude at all. I don't sleep with someone unless they have been tested recently and not had unprotected sex since their last clean test.

Nope, because awkward as it is, it's a fair question and shows that you care about your body

No it isn't rude. It's a little awkward, but it shows responsibility.

if that person really cares for you it won't be rude and they won't see it as being rude

Well, it's easier to just use a condom, but if I was at that point in a relationship then there's nothing wrong with asking.

It isn't ruse it is responsible! If they haven't had a checkup in a while it is good for them to know as well : )

Plus, maybe they've never been checked and were born with something, you never know. So it's always good to want to know, and I actually have asked personally for every partner I had up until I met hubby. If I didn't know they were clean I didn't want to have sex with them. It was just because of how paranoid I am to get something, and if they had something I wanted to know how to take precautions.

No one has EVER minded and no one has EVER objected

I'd be a little... whoa... usually it is me that is asking!!!

But I would ask them for a check up as well.
